Cottage Review:  

Located 20 m from a busy main road where vehicles can reach motorway speeds .

Concerned for safety of my dog in case it got out .

Lakes Holiday Cottages manage the cottage and make no mention of the road noise issue . When i contacted them to discuss the office manager (Sarah) was off rude and unprofessional .

She suggested i should have looked at a map to check the location .

My company will never use Lakes Holiday cottages again.

Cottage Review:  

Not too far from the M6 turn off the cottage was ideally positioned after a 4.5 hour drive, and great for when we needed to leave. Easy to find and with a great really dog friendly pub, The Windmill, a walk away. The cottage was clean and well presented. The kitchen provided everything we needed (apart from a bread knife) and the appliances were all easy to use. I would recommend a trip to Booths for stocking up the fridge located just as you enter into Windermere. The log burner in the living was such a treat and kicked out amazing heat, our little doggie l

Cottage Review:  

This cottage is not a bad base, would be better on a hot summer than the winter if you can cope with the traffic noise which did sound like we were based next to the runway at Heathrow. We had selected it because it permitted dogs, and for that part it was great to get to different parts of the lake district.

There were several items in the well stocked kitchen which needed washing before they could be used but on the whole the place was clean. The hot water for the shower and the bath was good and there was a good pressure in the system so it was warming.
