Thank you for a nice week at the cottage we had a FAB time

The cottage had everything we needed and more

we ate at the pub next door and would recommend it

The owners of the cottage showed us round, offered advice and recommendations nearby, and the staff in the pub were really nice and welcoming

We are local and stayed at fernleigh whilst having our bathroom renovated. Charlotte was really helpful and accommodating. Even offering to use their shower as our bathroom is still not finished!

Lovely bottle of wine on arrival very much appreciated!

Pub food very good and relaxing atmosphere, very friendly!

Thank you!!

Cottage Review:

We stayed at Fernleigh Cottage for 4 nights arriving on a Monday (check in 3pm onwards) leaving on a Friday (by 10am)

We picked up the keys at the Pheasant Inn & were shown round by the owner. A very clean, nicely decorated and fully equipped cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped, including iron & board, a hoover. Fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, oven & hob as well as other smaller appliances. Basically the kitchen had everything in it you would find at home (except food & drink). The lounge has 2 two-seater sofa's & footstool, side tables, TV, playstation 3, freeview box & a log wood burner. WiFi available throughout house. There is a small conservatory with round table & four chairs. A very small patio with round table & 4 chairs, also 2 other garden chairs. On the 1st floor 2 good size bedrooms with double beds. A small cupboard in the wall with hanging space, a vanity table & chair(no mirror), 2 beside tables with drawers in one room. A small 3/4 tall cupboard with hanging space, 2 beside tables with drawers. A TV in each bedroom. A good size bathroom with walk in shower and a seperate jacuzzi bath. Bath towels provided.

We parked (one)car outside the back gate.

The owners have a nice pub next door, with a nice outdoor seating area.

We were left a note of welcome & bottle of wine. There is a file filled with info on everything about cottage, pub (pub menus) & things to do all round Cumbria.

1st & 2nd night we had meals from the pub which we got as take out & ate in the cottage. We also ate in the pub.

There's a Tesco & a Co op (convenience store) 6 mins away by car. Grange over Sands promenade is 5 mins away by car, pay to park.

This is a fantastic cottage, very clean, well maintained, well run. We were very impressed with the cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Cottage Review:

My husband and I stayed at Fernleigh cottage for 4 nights with our Staffordshire bull terrier, Bleu. Unfortunately the owners were away while we were staying, but was shown the cottage by one of the staff at the Pheasant Inn (pub run by the owners).

This is a great cottage to base your stay in the Lakes District. It is a good size and well laid out inside. The living areas are well portioned and easy to move around in. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need, including a dishwasher and washing machine.

The bedrooms are well sized with a double bed in each of the 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom contains a TV. The bathroom is a good size with a fantastic Jacuzzi bath.

Our only issues were the busy road outside the cottage which sees a lot of traffic and we were woken up a few times by the lorries passing by. The parking was not ideal, with the parking area being shared with the neighbors. Recommend that you reverse into the parking area, because there is not enough room to turn your car around in, alternatively park in the pub car park and walk around to the cottage. The last issue is that there are no shops within a short walking distance and you do need to drive out to pick anything up you might need, but this is a small thing.

Overall, we would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Cottage Review:

Beautiful cottage, everything you could need but would have welcomed a hairdryer. Very noisy as close to road with cars & tractors thundering past. There was a lane next to the cottage where we could park our car but when my sister visited on Sunday we asked, out of courtesy, if they could leave their car on the pub car park while we walked into Grange but we were refused. We ate in the pub every day including Sunday so thought this was a little unreasonable.

We were welcomed by Gavin the owner who had the log fire lit and took us around this high spec cottage explaining about the heating TV's oven and jacuzzi bath!! The Pheasant Inn next door run by the family is a warm friendly busy pub with scrumptious meals It was so amazing that my partner proposed to me there...and I said yes!!

Well thought out with great fixtures and fittings,

although off road parking is actually a short walk away in the pub car park which wasnt ideal, and the double glazing needs replacing as we were VERY close to the road and the lorries woke us up everytime they passed.

Despite these small issues its a great location and the pub is outstanding and the owner is very welcoming and helpful.
