Cottage Review:

Not quite sure where to start on this, arrived here not a problem, sat nav found the carpark easy, up lots of stairs with luggage to the appartment, upon arriving inside it seemed clean, but discovered later on it was dirty, nail clippings on the floor, then placed some food in the fridge, only to find the next day it was making all the right noises but wasn't working, so contacted the number provided and a "temporary fridge" will be delivered to replace the broken one, the "Temporary fridge" also didn't work either throughout the whole holiday, so we had wasted alot of food and dairy stuff which had gone off, which pretty much put a dampner on our holiday from.day2.

Next is the bathroom, mould on the ceiling, and had been painted over, which I found pretty shocking, the beds was very uncomfortable, my other half had a bad back for a few days because of it, the beds felt higher at one end and lower on the other end, not ideal.

We got this holiday through a charity, yes we are massively appreciative of a free holiday, but this appartment pretty much put a big downer on our stay here, and no WiFi also, so our kids was bored often, it's the 21st century!

And been told to be conservative with hot waterin the pamphlet, I'm pretty sure the price that was paid for this holiday entitles a family of four a decent bath or shower over a week's holiday, especially with having hot days through the summer.

The furniture is also quite uncomfortable, it slides on the laminated flooring easily, the appartment doesn't offer much comfortable furniture or beds which suggests to me that they want you spending less time in there, more about making profit than the customers needs been met which is sad really.

Sorry I don't have much positivity in this review, it pretty much reflects and sums up our stay here as a family, the only good point I can give is the stunning view of Lake Windermere.

Cottage Review:

Paid £793 for 7 days and Eve?s Attic had some positives but sadly more negatives.

Positives; excellent location, right in the middle of Bowness, loads on your door step. Free parking, which is great for a weeks holiday. And easy to find, the post code takes you to the apartment car park and the apartment itself is easy to find when you arrive.

Negatives; dirty apartment, mould on curtains and a half eaten pizza in the oven greeted us upon arrival!

Shower is so poor it?s unbelievable. You have a choice of two showers. The electric shower is either boiling or ice cold, there is no inbetween. And the feed off the bath taps is good for temperature but awkward for use - being short and happy to get water everywhere is the perfect combo.

Finally the apartment space is average. Two couple visited; the beds aren?t that comfortable, the small double is against a wall, there was only one small bath towel per person and to use the dining table you need to cut off the living room.

Disappointed overall but not a total nightmare, we managed and didn?t have massive reason to complain but our week away was made by the location, ours plans and the weather - the apartment was the drawback.

No WiFi in 2021 is also a minus.

Needs a little TLC and it could be fantastic.
