| Cottage Review:
We stumbled upon this house entirely by accident and booked it over a year ago, during the lockdown, so it was a long-looked-forward-to holiday. The moment we walked in the house it felt so welcoming and warm and offered the perfect combination of hotel luxury with the privacy and space of home. There was a generous goody basket full of local produce, which also included beer, wine and champagne! Every bedroom was a good size and every room had spectacular views of the hills opposite and the valley below. The bed linen was top quality, the furnishings in every room sumptuous and stylish, thankfully without being too precious. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas and Skidaw is just behind the house where a little climbing effort is paid off with incredible views of Keswick, the local lakes and even to the sea if you climb high enough. We loved our stay here - it was an extended family birthday celebration and so the well equipped, easy to navigate facilities in the kitchen were essential as we were doing a lot of cooking. All in all a wonderful holiday that was hard to leave at the end of it! We hope we will be back very soon. |
