Crannoch Self Catering, 12 Blantyre Street, Cullen, Moray, AB56 4RP

Description of the holiday cottage

Crannoch Self Catering is a large holiday house in Cullen, Moray, sleeping up to eighteen guests. Set in a coastal town on the Moray Firth, this Victorian former hotel is a spacious choice for big families, groups of friends or multi generation stays looking for a self catering property close to Cullen Beach, local shops, places to eat and the wider Moray coast.

The house is arranged over three floors and has ten bedrooms, giving larger groups plenty of sleeping flexibility. The layout includes king size bedrooms, doubles, twins and singles, with several rooms having en suite shower rooms or basins. There are seven bathrooms or shower rooms in total, including a ground floor wet room, which may be useful for guests who prefer some facilities on the lower floor.

The shared spaces are one of the main reasons to consider Crannoch Self Catering. Guests have a kitchen diner, utility or pantry, dining room, snug, living room with bar area and a games room with another bar area. This gives groups different places to eat, relax, play games or spend time together without everyone needing to use the same room at once.

Useful features include WiFi, TVs, gas central heating, gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, bed linen and towels. There is private parking for several cars, which is especially helpful for large groups arriving separately. Electric vehicle charging is also available, although guests should check the latest EV charging details before booking.

Outside, Crannoch Self Catering has an enclosed rear garden with gravelled space, furniture, storage and a hot tub. The hot tub is likely to be a key feature for group stays, especially after coastal walks, beach days or longer trips around Moray. Three well behaved pets are welcome, although dog owners should check the latest pet rules before arranging a stay.

The location is a strong part of the appeal. Cullen has a sandy beach, harbour area, coastal walks, shops, cafés, restaurants and the famous Cullen viaduct. The town is also known for Cullen skink, its fishing heritage and its position on the Moray coast. Guests can walk towards Portknockie, visit Cullen Links Golf Club, explore Castle Hill and Nelson’s Seat, or spend time on Cullen Beach.

Crannoch Self Catering is also well placed for days out along the Moray coast. Portknockie, Findochty, Buckie, Banff, Macduff, Lossiemouth and Elgin are all useful places to know about during a stay. Guests can enjoy beaches, harbour villages, coastal paths, golf, dolphin watching opportunities, local history and scenic drives along this part of north east Scotland.

The second floor has sloped ceilings in some rooms and the first floor landing is split level, so guests should take care and check the layout before booking if access is a concern. Between July and August, Saturday to Saturday stays may apply. A good housekeeping bond may also be required. Before arranging a stay, it is worth checking the latest prices, availability, dog rules, hot tub details, EV charging, parking arrangements, review scores, licence details and booking terms through the cottage provider, as these can change throughout the year.

Could Crannoch Handle Your Big Group Stay?

If you have stayed at Crannoch Self Catering, your review could be really valuable for other large groups planning a Moray coast break. It would be helpful to share how the bedroom mix worked for different ages, whether the number of bathrooms felt enough, and how the dining room, snug, games room, bars and hot tub were used during the stay. Comments about parking for multiple cars, EV charging, bringing dogs, access around the split level areas, walks to Cullen Beach, local food, the viaduct, coastal paths and trips along the Moray coast can help future guests decide whether Crannoch is the right house for their own gathering.
