Description of the holiday cottage
Chief Instructors Apartment in the lush wooded grounds of the grand Edwardian hunting lodge (see F30) about a mile from Porlock, an attached cottage renovated from the chief instructor's quarters of one of the finest riding stables in Somerset. At the back, original, beautifully cobbled stable yard and stables which are used. At the front, a footpath takes you through two pony paddocks to the beach (250 yards). Access through its enclosed garden (table/chairs) via 6 steps. A large, rare Cornus tree shades the front door at the Chief Instructors Apartment; hall for coats/boots; two ground-floor bedrooms, a very roomy double with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath, second door to hall), and step up to a twin with en suite shower-room (suite). Stairs up to open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, slimline oven) with TV/DVD, iPod dock and glimpses of surrounding wooded hills; second living room-cum-den with sofa bed and TV/DVD. Pub, cafe and harbour, 1 mile level walk. Shooting can be arranged. A lovely tranquil spot.Sleeps: 5
