Cheese Cottage is 1 1/2 miles from Winsham, in the small hamlet of Laymore, 200 yards from a family-friendly pub, a pretty, Grade II listed, detached cottage in the grounds of the owners 16th cent. farmhouse. Originally built as a dairy for producing cheese, it s now been cleverly converted, combining its unusual original character with modern comfort. Cheese Cottage in Winsham has a good sized and enclosed orchard garden (table/chairs) to the rear. Cosy living room with slate floor (big rugs), inglenook fireplace (woodburner) and TV/DVD. Step down into large country-style fitted kitchen/dining room (combi-microwave, Stanley range cooker, induction hob) with original brick floor and cheese cupboards, butler sink, big pine kitchen table/chairs and views to the garden; large cupboard, once the bread oven, housing washing machine and table-top freezer. Upstairs at Cheese Cottage, two bedrooms with oak floors with rugs, a spacious double with wrought iron bedstead, and step down to a twin. Bathroom (suite, shower over roll-top bath plus hand-shower). A fascinating cottage with bags of historic features, in a great place for touring Somerset and Dorset.Sleeps: 4
