Description of the self catering property

Chapel Cottage is a classic english thatched country cottage with mellow stone in a lovely setting. Grade II listed and dating back to 15th century with a large south facing garden in a small village of approximately 35 houses. Enjoy England/Visit Britain have awarded Chapel Cottage 4* to confirm the owners targets on quality of the accommodation, facilities and housekeeping. Fully modernised while retaining features such as inglenook fireplace, woodburner, exposed beams, wood panelling, window seat, stone spiral staircase as well as oak main stairs, flagstones etc! Modern features inc underfloor heating (downstairs), CH radiators upstairs, range cooker, Megaflo hot water, power showers and ethernet & wireless internet. A full Sky package is available free of charge. The garden provides a lovely setting to relax with a tranquil stream, sun loungers, BBQ, table/chairs, large lawn (ideal for children) ..... Chapel Cottage is located in a no through road with only 2 houses beyond - so with almost no traffic in the lane you can truly 'get away from it all'!

Blackford has a lovely church and there are walks, historic houses, jurassic coast and other places of interest within easy reach. There are renowned pubs and restaurants in the area that provide something for everyone - from quaint to modern!

With easy access to north coast (Somerset & Devon) & south coast (Jurassic coast of Dorset, Devon etc) and under one hour from Weymouth - site of Olympics 2012 sailing - there are sandy beaches, quiet coves, great walks and more!

Chapel Cottage is within two hours of the centre of London (as well as Heathrow and Gatwick airports). Local airports include Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Bournemouth. The tiny, picturesque village of Blackford is situated on the Dorset/Somerset border within very easy access of the A303.

Nearby is the historic town of Sherborne, famous for its abbey, as well as Castle Cary, Wincanton, Wells, Shepton Mallet etc. The surrounding rolling countryside is adjacent to the historic site of Camelot - reputedly the fortress of King Arthur. A brook runs along the boundary of the garden which has a choice of sitting/eating out areas and BBQ. The interior has been finished to a high standard and has been awarded a 4*tourist board grading. There is off road parking for two cars.

The cottage used to be 2 cottages and now consists of three bedrooms/two bathrooms, (one en-suite to the master bedroom with a king size bed), kitchen with breakfast bar and dining/sitting room
