Cottage Review:
Lynsey and Jeremy have done a great job with this studio apartment. The kitchen may be tiny, but it did the job. We cooked a couple lovely meals and a hearty breakfast in it. I slept like a log, as the bed and pillows were fabulously comfy. There was a lovely welcome pack of half a dozen of their hens eggs, some fresh buns, a small bottle of wine and an exmoor gold ale in the fridge. Will be back at some point, as it was a lovely place. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. The location was beautiful, as was the surrounding area. Exmoor has some great places to hike and if your lucky you can see it?s wonderful wildlife, including deer, exmoor ponies, cheeky squirrels and so many birds it?ll take all day to name them. Watchet Harbour was lovely and welcoming. The Bell Inn was very welcoming especially if you had dogs. They allow dogs in their courtyard and in the bar area. The food and drink was good too. Minehead was lovely too. The esplanade was lovely and the shops were great too. Not too many tacky beach shops. Some lovely independent shops, bakeries, restaurants and pubs. The only blot was some dilapidated parts of Butlins holiday camp, but you could see, that they were being updated bit by bit. We found a great pub by accident on our way to another one. The White Horse Inn, Abbey Road, Washford. Very accommodating and atmosphere was great. The food was lovely and cooked to order. The bar manager was friendly and welcoming. If we?re back up this way again we will definitely be back and probably stay in one of the new lodges. |
