Description of the cottage holiday
Bishops Gate provides spacious holiday accomodation for up to 6 guests in part of a historic gatehouse that was once the entrance to the Bishop of Wells' Palace. Access to the property is via the front door under a Roman arch that is listed in the Domesday Book, giving the immediate impression of a property overflowing in history and charm. A large walled garden borders the church next door, providing a sense of spacious tranquillity and a delightfully relaxed vibe. As such, Bishops Gate makes for a perfect peaceful base for a country break with a convenient location within walking distance of all the amenities of Wiveliscombe.
