Benefiting from splendid views of Akeld Hill and across the surrounding countryside this terraced 19th century Grade II listed single storey stone cottage offers traditionally styled accommodation on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The cottage has been skillfully converted, together with a number of other cottages from the old reading rooms. To the south Newton Tors dominates the skyline, its slopes dotted with Iron Age forts, the most famous of which is Yeavering Bell.Best Features
Accommodation all on one level. Comfortable living/dining room with original feature range fireplace and French doors out to large garden. Small L-shaped kitchen. Spacious double bedroom with king-size bed. Two steps up to twin bedded room with garden views. Small bunk bedded room. Bathroom over bath shower and WC. Most rooms have lovely countryside views over garden towards Akeld Hill. Very large enclosed garden with views of Akeld Hill.
Horse riding available at Kimmerston.
Excellent walking with footpaths and trails in all directions.
