The site was launched in Jan 2009 and there are already thousands of properties either listed or waiting to be added. Holidaymakers can add a review to a property if it is already listed or they can add a property (in a simple format) themselves before adding a review. Reviews are checked by an editor before they are approved and put live on the site.

If an owner or their agent adds a property to MyCottageHoliday.co.uk, they are able to add considerably more detail about the property than a reviewer can, they can also add contact details and a web link. More importantly, if you have added your own property, you will be notified if a new review is added and you will also be able to login and post a reply to any review should you want to.
If your property has already been added by a reviewer, you can still add your property. When our editors check out your submission, our system will let them know that the property is already listed. Once we have established that you are in fact responsible for the property, we will move any reviews over to your listing and delete the old page. If someone wants to spread bad news about your property online they can do it anywhere - in fact they can do it everywhere.
