Cottage Review:

This property is a converted garage. I spent a week here on my own and found it quite isolating as I didn't have a car. However,it was clean, the bed was very comfortable with plush pillows. The bathroom was shiny and everything worked. Towels were also soft. Very good water pressure. It is very light and airy and maybe rather cold in the winter although 2 electric heaters were available. There was no extra bedding (14tog duvet in summer is too hot) There was an electric clothes dryer.

The downsides were that the hanging space and drawers were very shabby chic, there weren't any cushions or plants on the very narrow patio which was shown in the photos. Neither was there a view. Patio table was rusty.

I asked for a small coffee table which arrived promptly but it was a flimsy camping table.

There is a view over rooftops to the hills but the settee backs on to the view. There is no WiFi (not stated in details) but I expected it.

The kitchen had basic equipment but I didn't use the oven or hob. The fridge had a small ice box which was completely blocked with ice and needed defrosting. I had nowhere to store frozen food which I had ordered. There was no salad drawer or ice cube tray.

Shops are around but a good 15 minute walk to the nearest.

A welcome pack would have been a nice gesture - scone, butter and a small pot of jam possibly.

As a single occupier, I would look to stay in a hotel nearer the town if I ever return to Newquay. There are hills in every direction so be prepared to have good workouts if you don't have a car!

I went to Padstow on the Open top double decker which took twice as long as timetabled but an interesting journey and very friendly people. The beach is very popular with families due to the cleanliness and and surf.

There are several cut throughs for pedestrians to access town and beach on foot.Shops and restaurants are in abundance snd I had some excellent coffee in several establishments. The Atlantic Hotel, Silks restaurant, was lovely for an evening meal. Recommendations for The Headlands Hotel bear Fistral Beach was also mentioned by residents.

A visit to the zoo is a good place to go with children and there are play areas around the town. School holidays create an abundance of cars so be prepared for delays.

A lovely area in general. Enjoy your holiday wherever you stay.

Cottage Review:

The location was within walking distance of Newquay town centre (approximately 10 minutes walk). This was a new studio so everything was very modern and nicely presented. The studio also had a lovely little outdoor seating area. Fantastic countryside views from the main window. Laura the host was very helpful and responded to any queries very quickly.
