Cottage Review:
Fantastic little cottage with the sea litterally just across the road. Great view across to Roundstone and the mountains. The constantly changing tide brings different wildlife as well as scenery. we had a daily visit from an Irish Hare, robin, goldcrests, wren blackbird and magpie. Then we had occasional visits from a curlew, seal, wimbrel, and many other things without having to leave the cottage. Paddy and Brigid are very welcoming and the cottage is well appointed and a great place to stay whilst touring around Connemara. Be warned though that the whats on guide often tells you things are there when they might not be such as a Sunday market in Roundstone which doesn't actually happen in May but might happen in June. We loved the area but avoided Kylemore abbey because it is heaving with people being the one place the tourist coaches all go to. The Killary boat trip is a nice experience and the sky road is worth a look as long as you don't mind narrow roads. For anyone who loves the Quiet Man film there's a number of sites worth visiting in the area. Fantastic holiday in a lovely cottage |
