Description of the holiday cottage
... one mile seaward of Rosudgeon is Acton Castle, commanding the peninsula between Stackhouse Cove (200 yards walk away, low-tide sand) and Prussia Cove, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. While on St Michael's Mount in 1772, the romantic but rheumatic seaweed expert, John Stackhouse, spotted the site for his wedding present to his betrothed, Susanna Acton. Built of granite, Grade II listed, it has formal gardens and lawns, terraces and sunken garden with shallow pond and sensational sea views, including of St Michael's Mount. Private roughish drive to it. Farmland all round. Coast path. The castle is now divided into apartments. We have five.Sleeps: from 0 to 8

| Cottage Review: We had an excellent time. The booking procedure, holiday information etc. was excellent. We just feel a little let down by the experience we had in getting the issues with the freezer and bathroom resolved. It took nearly three days. If we had been shopping prior to arriving at the propoerty and had bought frozen food, we would have wasted money and would not have been happy at all. | |||||

| Cottage Review: This was our best holiday for years. The apartment is in a wonderful location with beautiful views and was beautifully presented and very clean. We would walk down to the cove below the castle, or along the coastal path to the large beach at Prussia Cove, which are two of the best beaches I have been to. Because both are a 10 minute walk from the nearest car park, and slightly difficult to access, we often had these beaches to ourselves, even though it was the school holidays. We will definitely be back. | |||||

Cleanliness is immaculate, and back-up service excellent too. If we self-cater holiday in the UK, we will use helpful holidays, and recomment them without hesitation. | |||||
