Cottage Review:

We holiday in the Gower 2 or 3 times a year and I was born here.. This is the smallest property that we have booked. We knew that it was small but didn’t quite realise how small. But that wasn’t the main problem. We booked for the two of us and paid for our two dogs too,as the website states that the property is dog friendly . However, on arrival, our hosts/owners informed us that dogs were only allowed in the minuscule garden, which had no grass but was dominated totally by a large pond, if they were on leads, no fouling at all. But most importantly we were informed on our arrival that we were not allowed to leave our dogs unattended in the cottage at any time! We assume but were not told, that this was due to the fact that the owners have a cat who understandably roams freely. There are also other properties based very close to ours around the garden, other than the owners.

Had we known these facts, we would have chosen a different location! We’re especially concerned as this was not advertised on the booking site (Home from Home).

Also, the living area is darker than the photos show, due to its position and garden foliage. It makes the downstairs smaller than shown with furniture and tv screen reminiscent of Alice in wonderland. We are not large build people but it was tiny. When the owner showed us around the property, he said that the bedroom, which is absolutely lovely ,we would have to keep blinds closed at one end as it is level with the main entrance/ car park. Everyone can look into the bedroom if you don’t! Thanks for that!

It’s a lovely ‘little cottage’, no privacy, dogs not happy. But it has a fabulous location. We stayed 4 of our 7 days as we would rather be at home than staying here!

Make up of party:  Two adults and two dogs.
