Description of the self catering
Self catering cottage in Embleton Located on the outskirts of this pretty coastal village, just a short stroll to the beach, The Lodge is an independent wing of an early 20th century country house which has been lovingly refurbished by its owner. Graded 5 stars by Visit Britain 2009 and also given a GOLD award Approached via a long gravelled driveway, its parkland setting offers ample parking and the use of its superb 5 acres of land including river (with swing), orchard and woodland walks. Internally, the open plan living accommodation comprises a hallway, fully fitted kitchen, dining area and living room with log burner. Patio doors lead out to a decked area and private garden. The decor oozes country house charm using Farrow and Ball linen tones and Jane Churchill soft furnishings and Rennie Macintosh prints. Upstairs, there are far-reaching sea views from the king sized bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A truly magical 'coast meets country' escape!

A wonderful cottage. My first visit to Shirewater and I will definitely visit again. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were so lovely. I had a nice walk to the beach and to the local village. I would definitely recommend this lovely accommodation for anyone wanting a relaxing break whether for a few days or longer |
