Dale cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Given the weather during our stay the log burner was a great benefit. The bed linen and towels were to a 5* hotel level. Highly recommended for a stay if visiting the area

It is a great location to visit the area, seem to be a favourite of walkers/hikers The residents of Allendale were very welcoming, The Forge provided a great breakfast,(also the butchers offered tea/coffee, bacon and sausage rolls as well as excellent homemade pork pies and meat) Sunday Lunch at the Kings Head was fantastic and great value for money, the cost of wine and food in the village pubs was a lot cheaper than in the tourist spots such as the town Corbridge which has lovely shops a fantastic cake shop and historical sites, well worth a visit. A Pizza van with wood fired oven visits weekly, fantastic pizza! also a "gourmet" burger van on a Friday

We came here last year and as soon as we arrived we were taken aback with the amount of work that has been done in the garden area. Inside the furniture has changed but retained its charm. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner who appears to graft none stop to ensure you have a great time. On the down side the Allendale Arms is suffering from a lack of love and landlords. As ever the coop is amazing. Were back next year and already looking forward to it

This property just needs a bit of TLC to bring it back to it`s full potential. The furniture in the sitting area has been well used and lacks the comfort due to the the sagging of the cushions. The TV and Sky Box are last century. This property is listed as sleeping 6 people but they may have a bed but they would have no where to sit downstairs.

This really is a property for 4 and would be better to remove the single beds from both bedrooms and give you a wardrobe as there is no where to hang your clothes.

Having pointed out the negatives there are many positives going for this property and even though I new about the above we still came back for a second stay. We had a problem with the lock on the front door and the owner was there in a flash and fixed it straight away. You have three pubs, Co-op, butchers and tea-room all within a three minute very slow walk. All pubs do food. The people are all friendly and I would not hesitate to return. Providing you don`t expect top end luxury you won`t be disappointed.

Stayed here for a week in July. We were blessed with fantastic weather which only added to the experience.

Really convenient for the village centre, and a great base to discover the beautiful countryside that lies all around.

Comfortable beds, modern kitchen, nice garden and easy parking. Highly recommended.

Fantastic week in this lovely cottage ! Took mum who at 78 appreciated the walk in shower in her bedroom and the downstairs loo. Kitchen space and facilities great . 2 large dogs appreciated the enclosed garden and cooling tiled floors. Lots of games books etc . Freezer was very useful as we brought raw meat for our dogs. Not very often you get more than an ice box.Shops, pubs post office with cash point all in walking distance. In fact we couldn't have asked for anything better. Will be back next year with 3 dogs !!! P.s. fish and chips at the Golden Lion Frid

Perfect location, so much to see! The cottage is absolutely divine, contained everything we could ever need! The underfloor heating downstairs was just perfect after our long days out! Two bathrooms were so lovely and made the task of getting ready so much less stressful, I can't fault this cottage in anyway at all!!

Wonderfully renovated cottage to a very high standard.

The cottage has everything you'd require for your stay.

The rooms are spacious and well laid out.

Lovely area, nice local walks, 3 pubs on your doorstep.

There's also a butchers,co-op, pharmacy, post office a couple of T rooms etc. It's a great little village, with friendly locals.

The owners Tony/Linda are on hand to help you with any queries you may have.

We'll defiantly return A+.
