Cottage Review:

From the beginning of booking our two night stay away at the Cwtch with sky cottages it was simple and easy to do.

Communication with Debra was easy and she responded to messaged quickly which ensured our quick and easy check in. We were left to our own devices and felt in privacy at all times even though there is a b&b right next door where the owners live too. We didn?t need the owners for anything but knew they were on hand if we did need to contact them.

The setting of the cottage is fanatic with the views from the hot tub making it even more romantic. The booklet of information which was there on arrival was handy with local activities and places to go along with places to eat our suggested too. The cottage was clean and tidy and provided us with towels for the hot tub and in the bathroom, the bed linen was also provided. A great selection of DVD?s are provided along with free view channels on the tv. The cottage was nice and warm even in the evening when I thought it might of got chilly but it didn?t, there is a log burner which is stocked up ready for your stay if it is needed.

You need to be aware the drive to the cottage up the farm track would be harder for low cars but we knew this would be the case and did not have a problem but just for people to be aware but taking it carefully it is definitely worth the bumpy track because when you get to the cottage you won?t be disappointed. You need to drive a fair distance to shops and pubs but again this was no complaint for us because we wanted a quiet couple of days away on the peace and quiet and that?s exactly what we got.

If you are looking for a romantic quiet get away The Cwtch is the perfect cottage and location.

Cottage Review:

We booked this as a winter weekend break (me and my partner) after Christmas. Days leading up to arrival, i let the host know we would arrive late friday due to work commitments which she said was fine and also confirmed that the sat nav would find this easy (travelling from Swansea) and would have no issues (giving the distance travelled, and rural location i checked with her before travelling). The weekend we travelled typically was the weekend we had some snow, meaning driving conditions werent great. My car ended up getting stuck in the snow, on an incline on a country road in what felt like the middle of nowhere. After several failed attempts at getting my car up the incline, i called the host in the hppes of some guidance for directions on what to do.. her response: oh you followed the sat nav, youll have to reverse back onto the main road (bare in mind i was about 3 miles into this winding road, pitch black and snow and gave no further instruction). I managed to do a 3 point turn (just) and get back onto the main road, pull over and try again with the sat nav. We eventually got there around 10pm and the cottage was beautiful. It was cosy and homely and the hot tub was a lovely benefit. Im one to always read through the information packs to get to know where things are and how to use appliances etc. Several times it mentions about a fine of £50 if things arent left clean and tidy - including stripping the bed sheets.. now being a 5'5 girl and a queen size bed.. this wasnt going well. Nevertheless i made sure it was done and things were clean. Lovely weekend and a beautiful cottage and we definitely made the most of the hot tub in the freezing winter temperatures! I can't complain about the barn itself or our stay. However, on our departure day (departure is 10am which to me is a bit early considering check in is 3 or 4pm), we were running late as we had to then sort the recycling, take it to the end of the lane (approx 1 mile from the barn) and strip the beds and do all the cleaning. So i text the host to let her know. She came to the door at 10.06 saying "oh.. check out was 10am" and we apologised saying were just finishing up, we'll be out asap. She returnef at 10.11 and said (and i quote) "im not being funny but im paying staff to clean and ive got new people arriving today, you didn't request a later check out". This took us aback due to the amount of cleaning requested we do, and the fines we would get if not done - and i also checked, there was nobody due that day as i had the option to book the next night). Due to this response and the attitude, we just grabbed our stuff and left - 90% of the cleaning done, but didnt take the bins out to the end of the lane due to her response. I feel it was very uncalled for as we had contacted her and unsure what she was paying people for seeing as id done all the cleaning and she was putting new bedding on which id already stripped! A lovely weekend, shame that her behaviour toward ua put a dampener on it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cwtch. We found The Cwtch very easy thanks to Google and the owners directions. There was good parking. The views were beautiful and the hot tub was ideal after a long days walking. The Cwtch was small but big enough for me and my boyfriend. We had plenty of privacy but we knew the owners were only next door if we needed them. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and her little dog who was very friendly and told to head straight in as our keys were on the table. As we got into the cottage and settled in we read the black folder of information for us during our stay, including rules for The Ctwch, hot tub instructions, local eateries and other useful information. We also found a guest book and it was interesting reading about previous people who had stayed there and what they did during their time in Wales.

A couple of issues to highlight; we should have had the water system explained to us upon arrival as for 2 days we woke up to no hot water and my boyfriend and I had to find the immersion switch as well as the radiator switch by ourselves. Also in the black information book were strict rules on the amount of waste we could leave (2 bin bags after a week.) It said that we were left 2 black bin bags for this but we discovered that we only had one, so we had to buy our own! And we were also only left one toilet roll for a week, so we had to buy more as well, which wasn't good enough considering the amount we paid and the strict rules on cleanliness and amounts of rubbish. They were only small issues that didn't affect our comfortable stay but we felt they should be mentioned.

These were only small issues that is why we have only given it 4, however we did really enjoy our stay at the Cwtch and would recommend it.

The Cwtch is a delightful little cottage with a very cosy feel. It is exactly as you see on the photos. The sat nav took us to pound farm just down the road, Cwmllechwedd Fawr is around the corner from there, but is signposted. The owner was very helpful via email when I was ordering my Tescos delivery a few days before we arrived, and came to see us the evening we arrived to check everything was ok.

The kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of DVDs, games, puzzles etc provided if you fancy a lazy day or night at the cottage. There is no phone sig

My partner and I wanted to do something special for my 21st birthday. We couldn?t afford to go abroad, so we spent our first holiday together, and my birthday at the cwtch! And it was absolutely amazing, I think I?d rather stay here than go abroad anyways!

Getting there was a slight struggle. The satnav took us close, but there were a few cottages around and with no sign posting and no phone signal, we were driving around for over half an hour looking for the right one haha!

But when we got there it was beautiful. Immaculate! The cottage is exactly as it

Me and my wife came hete for our first wedding anniversary at the beginning of may and I think it was the best decision we made that weekend, was a lovely getaway just the two of us and we both loved every minute of it.

The barn conversion was of a very high standard and well set out, the land on which it was on was brilliant and the owners were very pleasant and very helpful both lovely people.

The hot tub was amazing and very well complimented by the spectacular scenery of the hills and farm land, very relaxing.

On our actual anniversary the owner was more
