This house is well situated in its well kept gardens and many seating areas to chill with family both during the day and evening, big enough for children to run around and play around in. Nice little park at the bottom of the garden also.

The pool is a great size and well maintained and very clean.{ shame the pump broke and we had no heat in it for four days of our stay} but the keeper sorted the problem the day before we left and it needed 24hrs to heat back up as it is a large pool. Sauna was great left you feeling totally cleansed.

Everything you needed was all provide within the home. Just need your own towels for the pool area.

The one main problem was that the wifi did not reach to the anix rooms at all.

Beautiful views not far from supermarkets, nice food at the pub down the road.

I would suggest going to see Puzzlewood only about 40 minutes drive away.

It was a pleasure staying at this lovely country home.

Enjoyed our times with 12 adults and 10 children

Greeat time

My wife and I arrived on the 7th June 2019 to prepare for other family members arriving to help us celebrate our 45th anniversary. We were met by Pat who was brilliant in explaining everything about the house / pool etc. She ensured that we had her contact number in case of assistance. The weather could have been better in June but the wonderful indoor pool took away the disappointment in not being able to have a BBQ / play in the garden etc. The actual facilities in the property were 100% - They have thought of everything to assist in making certain you can entertain properly ie - serving dishes / glasses etc etc etc. Nothing has been left to chance. The other beauty is the 2 dishwashers to cater for the amount of people that could be in the house. We were a party of 13 aged between 3 years and 73 years therefore we had more than enough space for everyone. On our final day, Pat was there to ensure everything had gone well. We never felt rushed to leave, albeit we were ready as we knew that the house had to be vacated by 10am. If you have a large party to cater for, this is the house to do it. Clean / bright and quiet with the added attraction of the indoor pool and games room (complete with a beer fridge!....supply your own beer of course!) All we can say on behalf of our family - thank you!

We and several other couples rented The Croft for one of our periodic reunions (and had an absolutely splendid time!). The house and setting are lovely, and the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful. The pool is a decent size and the jacuzzi and sauna a real bonus.

Where I agree with some other reviews is that the splendor of the house and grounds is at risk of being somewhat diminished by a lack of attention to small but important details. The two TVs are decent (but not smart so basic freeview channels only and no streaming) but the DVD players were ancient, poorly setup (SCART cables in 2018?) and faulty. I think I was probably the first person in years to change the batteries in the non-functioning remote for one of them judging by the state of the old batteries but even then the player was still temperamental. There was no mesh/wi-fi repeaters so most of the house/site had no wi-fi coverage. This would always be an issue in todays connected world but given that there is absolutely no 3/4G and barely any phone signal in the location it was a real headache. Most of the bathrooms had small patches of mould in the shower enclosures some of which had seen better days.

Other less significant issues still niggled. There were unused picture hooks on bare walls which was a tad strange, quite a few light bulbs were missing, towels supplied were small and poor quality. The pool room was great fun but only had two usable cues (even they had dodgy tips) and no rests. Jacuzzi instructions were scrawled on a piece of paper and sellotaped to the window etc. Not earth-shattering but a bit at odds with the high quality of the house itself.

As I have said, we had a great time at The Croft (and I'm sure we'll be back!) but 1 weeks rental spent on a bit of maintenance and upkeep and a bit of investment in a few technical upgrades (you can buy a couple of decent smart Blu-ray players and fit mesh wi-fi across the site for about £500) would make a real difference and do the wonderful house and grounds justice and make The Croft a definite 5 star experience.

Overall a really nice family location with fabulous pool, sauna, gym, jacuzzi and I would definitely recommend it and go again. The main building is nicely decorated with a huge TV in the living room, a large kitchen with Aga, separate cooker and 2 dishwashers! There were a couple of niggly things that needed sorting out like the broadband not working (wouldn't have bothered packing my laptop if I'd known), the shower tray waste in my room was either blocked or not sufficient for the high water pressure and filled ankle deep, a few of the showers seemed a bit temperamental I'm told, one had a leak. The extractor fan didn't work either in the Jack and Jill bathroom. Just a little bit of maintenance would have made this 5 star.

This is a huge house in a beautiful position. There were 20+ of the family aged 13 to 80 years and we all had a great time, swimming ( good size), jaccusi, sauna, exercise gym, pool table, large lawns, with games, all in first class condition. Fully equipped large kitchen, large dining room, comfortable lounges. Everything you could need for a large group. We had a fantastic time and are considering booking again for the next big family DO in 2020.

An amazing house that felt like home. The grounds, swimming pool etc an added bonus which meant if you didn't want to go further afield there was no need. When we could drag ourselves away from the house there were many lovely places to visit. The more energetic of our family went canoeing and walking.Us older ones settled for the easy option ---- a trip on a steam train.

What an amazing house, from the start with Sykes who we booked it through, to Juliia the daughter of the owner and Pat, who couldn't have been more helpful! Thank you! Xx

The house was beautifully decorated in a xmas style. We had a wonderful Xmas with friends, turkey and all the trimmings! The house is very well equipped, the swimming pool is a bonus. The area around is stunning, Hay and Ross on Wye, Abergevenny is a must. Would nightly recommend! Thank you again for a magical time!

I have just returned from a family holiday at The Croft. Large house, enough room for our family of 23. However, so many flies in and around the house, made it very difficult when cooking and preparing food. The 2 main windows in the kitchen did not open, we understood we were in a rural location near to a farm, however, flie screens would of helped matters. 1 shower in the en-suite did not work, broken paving slabs on the patio, no towels or bin liners in rooms and bathrooms on arrival, we also had to wash patio furniture as it was very dirty on our a
