Fantastic cottage containing everything we needed for a family break of 1 week. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Great location for visits north south east and west. Warm, comfortable and spacious. Much thought had gone into providing books DVD's , tapes and games for evenings in. The huge range of information leaflets about the area was really helpful. The 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite) and 2 double bedrooms were a real plus. Appreciated the extras (toiletries) provided. Loved the Smeg pink fridge and double ovens. Stayed here for a New Year break and it was fabulous. The Cowshed has everything you need for a luxury break, from the super comfortable king bed in the master bedroom to the wood burning stove in the living area , flatscreen TVs in each room and a wonderful sound system - we were truly spoiled. The welcome pack was a generous surprise with festive goodies and a bottle of cava to toast the New Year. Horsley is a small village only 10 miles from Newcastle with a good bus service. | Cottage Review:
We stayed here as a base to explore Northumberland. The accommodation was fantastic, the decor is funky and stylish and it was spotlessly clean. We loved having the fire lit on an evening, there were loads of family games provided and the TV has Netflix, which all helped to create a truly chilled week. There's a lovely pub in the village (Lion and Lamb) and an Arts cafe which both served great food and there are some fab walks in the surrounding countryside. A superb holiday cottage. |
