The Cormorants, Flat 1, 8-10 Bridge Street, Lyme Regis, Dorset, DT7 3QA

First, there are not 5 bathrooms nor 5 bedrooms.

We had a good time at The Cormorants, the rooms suited our family with one double, one twin and the third room had three beds and a cot so the accommodation was for 7 people. The double and the twin rooms had an en-suite shower room and the third bedroom had the use of a bathroom with shower over the bath.

This holiday let had all that we needed although the grill didn't work and it took a long while to find the instructions for all the appliances we needed,

On entering the let it looked very clean and spacious with a welcome bag of local products on the kitchen table. The kettle was very fast to boil, which we appreciated and there was plenty of mugs and other crockery for our use.

We liked the fact that most of this apartment had carpets on the floor, the position was brilliant and we liked the lovely, big rooms, especially the lounge with its funky lights and balcony: on returning from a day out it seemed very welcoming. There was always hot water for the showers and the position was not very noisy although there was a restaurant with a large outside dining space directly below.

The downsides were that there were only three rolls of toilet paper between the seven possible people, which seemed very parsimonious. There was also an apparent lack of maintenance with a toilet roll holder loose, a shower door which stuck closed and all bedside tables being very wobbly - the doors and windows also needed lubrication as they were rather difficult to open. One set of TV controls didn't work and one bulb wasn't working on one of the lamps. There were also feathers and a wrapper behind one of the sofas, a dirty grill pan and microwave plate (which we didn't use)

The entranceway gave a really bad impression of the place with debris on the tiles and two large, old black sacks which made it look like a place for rough sleepers and also impeded our entrance into the property.

Another point to make is that the allocated car park was quite a way away and up a steep hill. It is very handy for the beach and many of the local attractions.
