Description of the self catering property

Situated in the centre of the peaceful village of Glanton, Simonside Cottage is a cosy retreat in which to unwind after an invigorating day’s walking or cycling along the miles of quiet footpaths and cycle routes close by. Pennine Cycle Route 68 passes close to the village and secure, dry bike storage can be arranged at the cottage by prior arrangement. The doors out from the conservatory open into a private fully enclosed sheltered south facing garden, perfect for relaxing on balmy summer evenings. The village has a family friendly pub within easy walking distance and a Post Office with free internet access. This location is an excellent base for touring the whole of Northumberland from Hadrian’s Wall to the impressive Cheviot Hills on the Scottish border, to the sandy beaches along the Heritage coast interspersed with stunning castles and bustling harbours. The peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt countryside is vast. The historic market town of Alnwick is 8 miles with a full range of facilities including shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes, good Tourist Information Centre, famous castle and the beautiful gardens.
