Cottage Review:
On arrival we were met by a very stubborn lock to the front door. Lots of jiggling and a bit of shoulder persuasion and we got in. 2 flights of steps to reach the first floor apartment. When we got inside our progress was hampered by a table and painting in the way. Turned out, the owner had moved them off the landing whilst some work was being done on the upstairs flat. He moved them out of the way and we got our cases etc into the place. The fire in the front room is an electric one, not gas as stated in the description. Much easier to deal with. We found the sofas to be very hard and not as comfy as they look in the photos. The bed was hard and we found that one pillow wasn't enough but 2 gave you a crick in the neck. Sadly lacking in sockets throughout, and the lights were very fim and name it hard to read. I certainly couldn't tackle my knitting The kitchen was nicely equipped. It would have been nice to have had a fridge freezer rather than just a fridge with an icebox. We've noticed since Covid that all instruction manuals seem to have been removed, not just here but elsewhere too. It is really annoying as I would have loved to try the jacuzzi but I had no idea how to get it to work. Bizarrely there were instructions how to use the shower! We also couldn't find any instructions about rubbish and recycling. Sadly we found that work was going on in the flat above all week. The workmen were clomping around at 8ish. No chance of a lie in. Sorry I sound so critical but there seemed to be lots of niggles which took the shine off the holiday. I was glad to get back to my own bed and sofa. |
