Commanding spectacular views over the South Tyne Valley these four comfortably furnished traditional stone cottages stand in an elevated position on the outskirts of Haltwhistle which is known as the Centre of Britain. The resident goats and hens provide an additional ambience to this rural setting with panoramic views and tranquil surroundings. The cottages are the perfect venue for a family get together to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary or just escaping for the hustle and bustle of city life. Ald White Craig is an excellent venue to explore the most interesting sections of Hadrian’s Wall. Being mid way along the stretch of The Wall the Roman Forts of Housesteads, Vindolanda and Birdoswald can all be reached within a few minutes by car. Haltwhistle's unique position in the South Tyne Valley makes it an excellent base for those interested in wildlife, scenery and outdoor pursuits with splendid varied walking, fishing and pony trekking available locally. The town has a heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a good range of amenities together with first-rate train and bus services. The market town of Hexham with its Saxon abbey is 13 miles east whilst the Border city of Carlisle is 20 miles west. Easy access to Northumberland National Park, the Lake District, the Dales and the Scottish Borders. Golf, fishing and horse riding locally.Best Features
Furnished in a cottage style this cottage offers open plan living with well equipped kitchen area and a dining table. The glazed door out to the patio area is set in the original archway. First floor. Double bedroom with sink. Family room with bunk beds and a single bed. Single room at top of the stairs with bi-fold doors. Bathfoom has bath with over bath shower and velux window.
