Description of the holiday cottage
Sanjernin is a comfortable detached bungalow a short distance from the town centre and beach of Swanage. Swanage is a popular seaside resort which has a good variety of high street shops, restaurants and curiosity shops. The beach at Swanage has a gently shelving sandy shore and clear water that has won the prestigious European Blue Flag award. Surrounding Swanage is the Purbeck Hills and coastline - an area popular with walkers and people who enjoy outdoor life. Step back in time as you travel along on the Swanage steam railway, marvel at the scenery from the top of Corfe Castle, walk around the old Saxon walls of Wareham to the quay and perhaps take a boat trip to Poole harbour. The surfers bay of choice when the seas suit is nearby Kimmeridge Bay, for those seeking sandy dunes to hide in Studland beach is idyllic. The National Trusts' Brownsea Island is a perfect location for a picnic; catch a boat from Poole Harbour for a special day out. The nearby attractions of Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are all in easy reach of the property. Shoppers are attracted to the major outlets in Poole and Bournemouth via the Studland chain ferry. The Swanage area and it surrounds is rich in leisure pursuits and tourist activities, from genteel walks to lazy days on the beach Sanjernin is an ideal property for young and old.Sleeps: 5

| Cottage Review:
We stayed here for self catering holiday in a wet july. It is warm, clean and very comfortable with very good beds. The rooms are larger and nicer than the photos show, and it might be a plus being on the bus route as it is over half a mile to the beach and town parking is expensive and limited, although the buses are only every 30 mins. The excellent shop next door has a post office, cashpoint (free) butcher, fresh baked things plus most of what you would find in a large town supermarket incl. freezer sections etc and open 7 am - 8pm (very useful). The back ensuite tripple has a bath, no shower but is quieter and not overlooked. The front bedroom faces onto the road so a bit noisier with open windows but has its own shower room and a huge window. The kitchen had everything, and the garden is big though all paved. Parking is tight at the front (busy road) or back (room for one car) but not difficult, and the front has useful ramps for wheelie suitcases (steps at the back). My 80 year old mother was delighted with it and its clean and pleasant ambiance. Some of the info is out of date (there is no internet cafe in Swanage but the library is free) but useful nevertheless. Not stylish or pretty, but definitely pleasantly easy to navigate and live, in and does what it says on the tin. Like staying at your very tidy auntie's house! |
