Description of the holiday cottage

Park Farmhouse is a large thatched Grade II listed farmhouse holiday cottage in Chideock in West Dorset, built in the 18th century and yet with the benefit of a range of modern facilities. Park Farmhouse is a large self catering holiday home in West Dorset that sleeps up to 17, it has a fantastic indoor swimming pool and has 9 bedrooms as well as a large garden that is mostly laid to lawn, a wonderful cottage in Chideock near to West Bay and Bridport.

Park Farmhouse has a small front garden that separates it from the A35; at the back, steps up to enclosed, mainly lawned and walled garden with a patio and garden furniture including a barbecue. There is an indoor heated swimming pool (28’ x 14’ x 4’ deep with shower-room suite) with French windows overlooking the garden, also a small games room with table tennis and table football and sun terrace.

Park Farmhouse is mostly double-glazed, smart and well renovated with old beams and doors, light and surprisingly spacious. There is an entrance hall at Park Farmhouse, off which there is a drawing room with an open fire, on the other side of the small hall, there is a living room with woodburner, TV/DVD. The dining room is large including a dining table seating 16 people with doors to kitchen and living room.

Smart fitted kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, gas range-style double oven/7-ring cooker, breakfast table seating 6 in the alcove and a fridge. Utility and drying room with a washing machine, freezer and larder fridge. Downstairs bathroom with a wash hand basin and wc and a small office. Stairs with stairgates from the hall and kitchen up to very large landing/room with beanbags, TV/DVD - ideal for children. Off this, a double with a four-poster bed with low doorway to en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

Another double bedroom with en suite shower-room (suite). There are a further three twin bedrooms including one with en suite shower-room (suite) and a small single bedroom. From this last room, very steep stairs up to another twin bedroom (not suitable for young children). Bathroom (suite). A second staircase leads up from the kitchen.

Five yards from the back door, there is a pretty little detached converted creamery with two bedrooms. Downstairs at the Creamery has a double bedroom with a four-poster bed and en suite shower-room (suite). Upstairs at the Creamery, via outside steps, another double with en suite bathroom (suite). Professional catering available. Good pub, two doors away.

A fine house, with lovely swimming pool, ideal for families sharing and with a good fossil-hunting beach within walking distance.
