Cottage Review:

I live in Canada and booked this cottage for a family visit. Its in an amazing location right on the side of Poole Harbour. Its beautiful even when its raining! Lots of wildlife - particularly deer. Owners were helpful about the cottage - its in a very remote location so make sure you have a good vehicle as the track to the house is a little bumpy. Really nice wood fires in two rooms made the cottage great for the evenings. Kids loved the place.

Make up of party:  4 adults. 4 kids

Cottage Review:

Booked this cottage for a family gathering, at a cost of £1700 for a week, out of main school holidays - not a cheap option. Location is amazing, but the cottage itself is tired, and needing much attention. Beds are saggy and uncomfortable - one supported by a piece of MDF board, another so creaky that we awoke everytime our kids moved in it! The plumbing is a joke - the brochure does say it is spring fed, but this does not warn you of the yellow water that trickles out of the tap - 20 mins to run a 3-4\" bath, and if you turn on another tap at the same time, one just stops. Ridiculous for a house that sleeps 8-10!! Badly cleaned - dust everywhere, unwashed floors, dirty sinks and soap dishes, grotty duvets inside the cases, a dining table that the cloth came away black after wiping - and then we found a furry mouldy sausage under the cooker on the last day!!! We also found \"brown beetles\" - the agent\'s description (we were pretty sure they were cockroaches!) in the larder, which just about finished us off!!

Such a shame, as the location is stunning, but this house needs some proper care & attention to live up to the prices that the owners / agents are charging. Furthermore, on complaining when we returned, the agents will not accept any responsibility for the state of it, nor the owners. Very, very disappointed with Dorset Coastal Cottages - would not go to this house unless the owners spend some proper money is spent on sorting it out.

Make up of party:  Annual family holiday, group of 8 - 92 year old great grandma, down to 2 year old.
