Cottage Holiday Reviews for Old Ferry House

Old Ferry House, Lymington, Hampshire,

Description of the self catering property

... on the edge of Lymington, with its toes in the last lake-like meander of the Lymington River before the Solent, Old Ferry House is one of the very few private houses in this most boaty of places to actually adjoin the water - it makes the most of it. Electric gates open into a secure parking area and an acre of garden and apple orchard beside the pretty river. From the garden, a little bridge leads down to a private pontoon.

Sleeps: from 0 to 14

Cottage Review: Just concluded a fabulous weekend at Old Ferry House celebrating my mother-in-laws 60th birthday. Location is fabulous, ideal for all ages, fishing from the terrace, rowing to the marina in our own 'water taxi' and relaxing in the garden. The house itself is beautiful and the perfect way to spend a few days with family and friends.

Cottage Review: The Old Ferry House was fabulous! There was plenty of room for the 12 of us. We spent most of the time gathered in the kitchen looking out onto the river. The children loved the swans and ducks and the boat rides across to Lymington. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It took about 15 minutes to walk into the quaint town of Lymington if you didn't want to drive. The garden was lovely. Every room was comfortable and had a nice view of the water. The Isle of Wight ferry was just around the corner as well as the train station. We would go sightseeing during the day, but we couldn't wait to get back to the house!! We were very pleased with the whole experience from booking with Helpful Holidays to meeting Kate, the property manager, who catered to our every need. Thanks!!
