Description of the holiday cottage
Mermaid Cottage is a holiday cottage that sleeps 8 people in Gorran Haven is right on the beach, a quirky 17th century Grade II listed, end-of-terrace holiday cottage that is perfect for a large family. Once the local inn where (so local legend says) drunken customers were rolled out on to the beach to sober up! Now a great beach house, comfortably furnished and fantastically positioned for the pub, shops, Coast Path and the beach. There are 5 high steps up at Mermaid Cottage in Gorran Haven in Cornwall from the lane to front door; hall (for coats/boots) with tiled floor and shower-room (suite). At this level, two twin bedrooms with wood floors (rugs), one with boiler cupboard (cosy); very narrow, steep, open metal spiral stairs with a stairgate at top, down to attractive open-plan living room, dining room and modern fitted kitchen with microwave, woodburner, TV/DVD, beams and window at ground level looking straight to the beach; large utility room/second kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge-freezer, sink; beyond, 2 steps up to games room (table tennis, table football). Second spiral staircase with stairgates from hall straight up into large double bedroom with two children's z-beds, beams, cane armchairs, TV, great beach/sea views and en suite bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower). Loading and unloading outside; car park (extra), 150 yards (reasonably level walk). Not suitable for people with limited mobility.Sleeps: 8

| Cottage Review:
Unfortunately we didn't get to stay in the cottage as 10 days our stay, having booked almost 7 months after booking, the owners decided to cancel with the readon of building work unfinished!! They should think very carefully about potential future bookings as we had flights booked from Manchester which cannot be refunded! |
