Cottage Review:

I was up looking for something the other day with regards to Alnmouth and looked in on Mariners House. I was intrigued to see a review pop up on Tripadvisor and a one star view at that. Well we all know what curiosity is like! It got the better of me and I read the review.

What a load of tosh!

I and two friends have had the pleasure of staying at Mariners House three times and will be doing so again this year next year.

Mainers House is charming, beautifully decorated, well appointed, the beds are comfy, it?s spotless, with stunning sea views that are difficult to rip yourself away from. We have spent many a night, with glass in hand, watching the world go by. If you can tear yourself away from the view Northumberland is a fabulous place to explore. There are stunning restaurants, magnificent castles, great beaches along with rugged cliffs, and the history inland will surprise you even more. Mariners House is a great base from which to start your exploration.

Cottage Review:

I love this place it is a calm serene apartment in a traditional building with an amazing outlook with a 5 minute walk to the beach and amenities in the main street.

The apartment is very welcoming with everything that you could need, I have visited several times and loved every time I have been there.

The apartment is very clean the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, the main bedroom has a beautiful ensuite. With a fabulous role top bath.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a good coffee maker and lovely habitat crockery. The kitchenware is extensive.. new cooking utensils, several baking trays many very new and other used but very clean and usable baking trays. A great.array of pots and pans. We did eat in the apartment as we found it very easy to do so.

The decorations throughout the apartment are muted and calming. With good lighting and beautiful curtains framing an amazing view.

I would highly recommend a visit to the amazing part of the country and the amazing Mariners House.

Cottage Review:

Some of the pictures are very deceptive. The settees are very well worn - you almost fall on the floor when sitting on them - torn curtains at the front - very dirty cooking trays - very hard beds - bedrooms that are extremely dark in the day. A toaster that belongs in the last century. Mould around the bath plus open plumbing in main bathroom. If I could add pictures I would - but no option for that. When the owners were informed they just completely ignored us and Skye?s cottages. Not in the least bit interested in our complaints or concerns. I had to go and buy new cooking trays to feed my family over Xmas.
