Description of the holiday cottage

Hall Farm Cottages are rated 4star by Visit England. Set in the pretty village of Sedgeberrow at the foot of the Cotswolds, Hall Farm Cottages have beautiful views over hills and fields. In the Heart of England, just 30 miles from Birmingham, 50 from Bristol and 100 from London, the cottages are easily accessible from just about anywhere, and an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds and surrounding areas or merely relax in the garden, swim in the pool, or try a spot of fishing along the riverbank! Four beautiful barn conversions await you with peace and quiet prevailing. Each cottage contains a wealth of original features including exposed beams and bricks, whilst creating an extremely well-equipped and comfortable space to allow you to get the most out of your well-earned holiday. The main garden has tables and chairs for each cottage and is fenced in for the safety of children, whilst the extended grounds include an orchard (help yourself to fruit) and a large expanse of lawn. Children are extremely welcome and we will endeavour to accommodate your requests for baby/child related things – from cot to steriliser to toys. On your arrival you can expect a warm welcome with a few goodies and a bottle of wine beckoning. Sedgeberrow is a thriving village with a lovely pub serving excellent home-cooked food; a village-shop selling provisions, local meat and produce; and a lovely church all within 200 meters of the cottages. Best Features

All the cottages have been converted from old stables and barns with the utmost care, using original timbers and features where possible, whilst having all the modern fixtures and fittings essential in today’s high standards. Much of the furniture is antique and blends in completely with the cottage atmosphere. All the cottages have been created to provide peace and tranquillity in a rural environment, hence all the sitting rooms and bedrooms overlook the gardens.

In order to ensure your holiday is just that – a holiday – whether you plan on visiting all the great local restaurants or eating-in, our aim is to make sure that you “Just Need Food”. There’s nothing worse than having to buy absolutely everything, so condiments, cleaning things, cling-film etc is available for you.

Children are extremely welcome and we will always try to provide you with as many items as possible such as travel cot, high chair, steriliser, toys, DVD’s, stair gate, playmat, ‘Bumbo’, bouncy chair…. Just ask!

The main garden has a swing/slide set and a 12’ trampoline (complete with safety net), whilst the extended garden has a large lawn (great for running around and kicking balls), and an orchard with fruit trees – help yourself - and chickens!

Cottage Review:

We stayed for five days in Gardeners Cottage with our 1 yr old son. The cottage was very comfortable and well maintained. What most impressed us was the facilities for children - even down box of toys. The shared garden was very pleasant, again very child-friiendly. It was just a shame that we couldn't make more use of it due to the weather. The only criticism we have is that the village has limited facilities and therefore you need to drive everywhere. However, we wouldn't fault the cottage or the friendly welcome from Rebecca the manager.

Moat Path Cottage at Hall Farm, in Sedgeberrow is a beautiful holiday cottage, with exposed beams and lovely wood-burning stove. Very welcoming and very comfortable. We made use of all the facilities including trampoline, and lawn area for football. Ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds, and great value for money. We would definitely recommend Hall Farm Cottages and would come again.

Gardeners Cottage is private, and cosy. Well equipped kitchen, and a selection of books and games on hand. The cottage has 2 large en-suite bedrooms, sleeping 5 adults. The beds and bedding were first class, very comfortable. Ample parking outside too. As we went out of season the pool was closed but if it were open, it could only make your stay at Hall Farm more pleasurable!! Thanks soo much Rebecca.

Cottage Review:

we decided to stay in the UK and booked a week in the Cotswolds, staying in Gardeners Cottage, at Hall Farm, in Sedgeberrow, just outside Evesham. We chose Hall Farm for several reasons, but mainly because they promised to supply all the baby necessities (travel cot, high chair, steriliser, toys) plus had good outdoor space for the older children to play in.

We arrived on Saturday lunchtime and were delighted to find fresh scones and home-made strawberry jam waiting for us, along with tea, coffee, milk etc which was great and meant we didn’t have to cook on Saturday evening which was fabulous. A yummy bottle of red wine was also included – perfect start to our holiday!

The cottage itself had a spacious kitchen / dining / living space and I was really impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was in terms of utensils, crockery, pans etc. I just HATE going to a rented cottage and finding one blunt knife for cooking preparation, but here there was a food processor and hand-held mixer if you fancied doing a bit of baking! There was even a copy of Delia’s classic cookery book, just in case you fancied making something more strenuous than pasta / pizza / paella.

There were two bedrooms above, both en-suite with full bathrooms which was really handy. The kids took the larger room which had a double bed plus a single. Baby came in with us in the twin room and it all worked out well, although my monkeys were awake at 6am as usual every morning….yawn.

Outdoors, there was plenty for the kids to play on, with a large trampoline, grassy field for ballgames, swing / slide etc. And as if that wasn’t enough, there were chickens in the orchard, and no1 son really enjoyed going to find the eggs each morning. Lastly, we were able to use the owners heated outdoor swimming pool which was a 5 minute stroll away and was a really lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Although I had visited the Cotswolds before it was pre-children so I wasn’t sure what we could actually do. Visiting cutesie Cotswold villages with 4 kids under 7 just isn’t the same as mooching around just the two of you… Thankfully Rebecca the manager had prepared an extensive folder full of ideas of places to visit and things to do. We spent days out, visiting Cotswold Wildlife Park and my personal favourite Cotswold Farm Park where the kids all loved feeding the pet goats and sheep. Trips to Croome Park and Westonbirth Arboretum were also worth a visit, if for no other reason that an ice-cream treat after our walk!

On the days we had sunshine, we were happy to relax by the (heated) pool, or just let the kids exhaust themselves bouncing on the trampoline or playing football.

All in all, it was a really enjoyable holiday and I would thoroughly recommend Hall Farm Cottages. I believe that they’re going to have a new holiday let available from next year In New Quay in Wales, so will be keeping that on my shortlist too!

Cottage Review:

I chose Moat Path Cottage for a family holiday as it advertised an enclosed garden, which is essential for an active 3 year old grandson. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for a week. The location is perfect for visiting the many places of interest in the area and I would recommend this cottage to anyone especially if there are young children in the party.
