| Cottage Review:
No curb appeal on arrival with moss covered back yard. We felt the house had a pervasive smell of damp. Sykes state 'the property did not smell of damp'. There was black mould on the curtains in the lounge and on the window sills. Excess condensation on the windows which prevailed throughout the day. Sykes state 'this was because they are single pane windows and condensation will form but there is a Karcher window machine for you to use to remove the condensation'. We felt there was insufficient hot water for 8 people to bath/shower in the morning and do any dishes etc. Sykes state 'the house keeper didn't have a problem!' The garden furnisher was unkempt and the hammock was covered in black mould, cushions were mouldy on the chairs. Fire pit area unusable. Sykes state 'this area was meant to be wild'. Lovely garden to walk through, accommodation was excellent for the dogs as was the garden. Kitchen was well equipped apart from no washing up bowl or plug Bedrooms were well decorated and all was very clean. Village shop was lovely with unique gifts. All of the beaches recommended in house information were excellent for beach walks with the dogs. We have provided some photos for you to have a look at our experience. |
