| Cottage Review:
Rhayader is a bustling town in mid-Wales' Red Kite country. Gardeners Cottage is one of 4 properties on the beautiful Glas Lyn estate just outside. It overlooks the river Wye with secluded walks along the tree lined bank (privately owned by the estate). The first time we visited we noted down more than 20 bird species from our breakfast table in the cottage garden! You'll get a warm welcome from Jonathan, Chee and especially their dog Freddie - on-site living in the big house. A couple of miles away is the Elan Valley - spectacular stack of reservoirs rising into the hills. If you fancy a small trout fishing water again a couple of miles will get you to the beautiful upland lake Lyn Gwyn (day tickets in Rhayader). A great holiday hideaway. |
