Description of the holiday cottage
Downs View is a three storey house situated in a quiet residential street in Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight. The property is ideally located for exploring Ventnor town centre and beach and is only a short drive to the nearby seaside resort of Shanklin. Internally, the property is well-equipped and offers spacious accommodation complete with a Playstation 2 games console and a selection of board games. The property also offers views over Ventnor Downs from many rooms. Ventnor is a charming town situated on the South Coast of the Island. It is claimed to be one of the warmest areas of the Island. The seafront is home to a selection of cafes, shops and amusements – perfect for entertaining the whole family. Only a short drive along the coast is the popular seaside resort of Shanklin. Here, the seafront is the focal point and features several eating establishments and pubs.Sleeps: from 0 to 6

| Cottage Review:
Pros: Nice decor, clean, well equipped kitchen, good enough location Cons: Nearly always impossible to park anywhere near; central heating hopeless - either boiling, or freezing, no way of adjusting radiators, we all had dry eyes and coughs, so gave up using it; not enough living space for 6 - only ok for 4; shower pretty poor - feeble with dodgy on and off switch; very noisy when windy outside - howling and creaking noises which woke the kids up most nights - do not stay if you are superstitious as it would be very easy to convince yourself there were ghosts!! |
