Description of the holiday cottage
Commodore's View holiday cottage in Portland is a three storey house at the end of a terrace of six built in 2003. It is in a prime position directly overlooking Portland Harbour, the venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing events. Look out over fantastic sea views from the lounge and the master bedroom taking in Weymouth Bay from the cliffs of White Nothe to Lulworth Cove and beyond, whether standing at the open Juliet balcony, relaxing in one of the deep comfortable sofas or lying in bed. Directly opposite is a short footpath to Castle Cove, a secluded sandy beach with shallow waters popular with local families. Turn left and a 20-minute walk along the coast path leads over a sunny green through Brewers Quay to the lively Old Harbour and town centre. Turn right and you come to the ruined Sandsfoot Castle and then along the former railway line now opened up as the Rodwell Trail to Harbour Point and the Ferry Bridge. The whole of the scenic south Dorset coast with wonderful opportunities for walking and visiting places of historical interest are an easy drive away.Sleeps: 6
