Not sure the photos on the website did the accommodation justice. All the rooms seemed to have been recently decorated to a good standard and very clean throughout. Parking was right next to the apartments and all the amenities you need are pretty much on your doorstep. For the money, it was a toss-up between here or a caravan in the next door Haven Holiday Camp (trailer trash!) and we were so pleased we chose this venue. The proprietors were more than helpful when we had questions and couldn\'t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The weather was a bit poor for our visit, but they did have wi-fi so I managed to get some boring work emails out of the way. The view from our apartment was reasonable (ground floor), but why would you want to stay indoors when you can take a brisk walk and be on the glorious beach in under a minute! Fantastic! We have no hesitation in recommending Chyreene Court and look forward to going there again in the near future, hopefully when its more summery.

Chyreene Court is a development of apartments in two 2-storey blocks arranged in an L-shape around a central grassed area overlooking the sea - this is a nice sun trap in the afternoon. All have a terrace or balcony with views of St. Ives bay and some overlook St. Ives itself.

Facilities in our apartment were fine, but fairly basic, owing to the apartments smallish size (no room for a dishwasher, for example). Everything was immaculate, though, and the views are lovely.

Apartment 5 is on the ground floor and has been converted for disabled visitors. Although travelling with a disabled friend, I would say it's not suitable for independent wheelchair-bound travellers, as the rooms are quite small and there is a slope into the bathroom. It was fine for our party, though.

The glorious beach is a couple of minutes walk from the apartment.

The nearest pub is the Bluff - owned by the nearby Haven caravan park. This felt to me like a motorway service station, and we avoided it. The second closest is much nicer - the Bucket of Blood, which is about 3/4 mile away. It serves good food and good real ale, but is not accessible. TO get there on foot, you can walk along the road or over the sand dunes and down a path, about 10 - 15 mins walk.

Hayle itself is about a 1 mile walk. There are several paths and short-cuts. The town has a few places to eat and drink, as well as a couple of supermarkets (a large Co-op and a Lidl).

Evenings out were usually in a Taxi, and we found both Hayle Taxis and Brians Private Hire reliable and friendly.

For anyone in a wheelchair, I recommend the Cornish Arms in Hayle, which is accessible and serves good traditional pub grub. A little further, and more upmarket, is Rosewarne Manor about 3 1/2 miles away at Connor Downs for a more upmarket meal, again fully accessible.

If you're a Pasty-lover, the Philp's bakery is in Hayle. It's open 7-days per week, and you can order the day before and collect them before you go home. There was a long queue on Sat morning when we collected ours, so allow time or collect them the night before.
