Bumble Bee Cottage, 17 East Street, Alford, Skegness, Lincolnshire, LN13 9EQ

Really enjoyed our stay in Bumblebee cottage. It had all we needed and cosy charm to spare.

Clean and comfortable, and centrally located in Alford.

There is a lot to see and do within very easy driving. Our dog loved the beaches and enjoyed lots of walks and cycling.

Just to be clear, regarding another review, we found the cooker works very well and the door entry is clearly explained.

I don?t normally do reviews but after spending a week here I think I should. Where to start on arrival we struggled to park outside the cottage which is situated on a busy road making it very difficult when you have a small dog and a baby. On arrival into the cottage we were surprised at the lack of care taken on cottage there was cobwebs in lots of areas and felt very dirty inside bathroom beautiful but rest of the cottage needs a lot of work. There was lots of confusion with cooker could only use one ring at a time the note that was left was not clear at all. They noted stairs were steep but we hadn?t realised just how steep and narrow and this was no good to us with being with two 70 year olds who really struggled myself fell down the last two steps they are not easy at all. In relation to rooms me and my partner had the back bedroom which after 2 nights sleep our backs were breaking we ended up bringing the mattress down steep stairs and sleeping in living room with my 9 month old baby in his travel cot for the remaining 5 days, which when in there we realised there was a draft coming from window and the door. The garden was beautiful and surrounding area however the cottage itself was very poor and not worth the money ruined a big part of our holiday? cottage needs a lot of work or needs to state it?s flaws? not good for elderly or if you have a baby or small children.
