Description of the holiday cottage

Bailey Cottage is a four bedroom holiday cottage in Bursledon, Hampshire, sleeping up to eight guests. Set close to the River Hamble, local pubs and Bursledon railway station, it is a spacious self catering stay for families, friends or groups looking for a South Coast break with a hot tub, games room and useful transport links nearby.

The cottage is arranged over three floors and has a flexible bedroom layout. There is a super king size bedroom with en suite shower room, a further super king size bedroom, a second floor super king size zip and link bedroom that can be arranged as a twin on request, and a twin zip and link bedroom that can be arranged as a king size on request. There is also a family bathroom with corner bath and walk in shower, plus a cloakroom.

The living space is one of the main features of Bailey Cottage. The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area gives guests a large place to cook, eat and relax together, with a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There is also a separate sitting room with open fire and Xbox, a snug or library space, and a games room with pool table, table tennis and air hockey.

Practical features include WiFi, TVs, books, games, washing machine, tumble dryer, Nespresso machine, wine cooler, travel cot, highchair, stairgate and off road parking for up to three cars. The property also has an electric vehicle charger, payable by QR code, although guests should check the latest charging arrangements before booking.

Outside, Bailey Cottage has an enclosed front lawn and a side patio with furniture, barbecue and hot tub. One well behaved dog is welcome, and additional pets may be accepted by request, so dog owners should check the latest pet rules before booking. The hot tub, garden and games room make the cottage particularly useful for guests who want plenty to do at the property as well as days out nearby.

The location is another strong reason to consider Bailey Cottage. The River Hamble is approximately 0.2 miles away, the pub is approximately 0.3 miles away and the shop is approximately 0.9 miles away. Guests can visit Hamble, Manor Farm Country Park, Bursledon Windmill, Netley Abbey, Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, the New Forest and the South Downs, giving a mix of riverside walks, coast, countryside, shopping, history and family attractions.

Short breaks may only be accepted during Hampshire term time periods, with seven night stays required outside those dates. The property may also have specific Monday and Friday check in restrictions. Cottage Review:  

Bailey Cottage is an amazing place to stay. The cottage is beautiful with everything and more you could possibly ask for in a holiday rental. The owners have thought of absolutely everything and the pool/air hockey table and hot tub were really enjoyed by all of the family.

The cottage is located in a lovely village that has pubs/restaurants within walking distance and there are a number of fantastic walks, such as the one to Hamble Le Rice where you can take the Pink Ferry across the estuary, from the doorstep.

The cottage is within 30 minutes of the centre of the New Forest where we had a great day cycling and it's also 35/40 mins from some lovely beaches.

It's not often we return to the same place as we like to visit different locations but this will be an exception and we shall be looking to return next year.
