Cottage Review:

We are staying at Archway Cottage right now and what a gem of a cottage it is. It's a mixture of the old and the new with a quaint sitting room, thick walls and a log burner. The big TV has Netflix and Amazon Prime and all the Freeview channels and an Alexa pod in the bedroom. The kitchen has every modern convenience that one can think of, the bedroom is huge with a very comfortable bed and the bathroom is modern with a rainfall shower. A bonus is the little secure garden (ideal for our dog) with superb bi-fold doors. The village has everything one might need - a butchers, a convenience store, a pub and a bakers. It is an ideal base for exploring the Derbyshire countryside and the surrounding towns. I hope future visitors enjoy the cottage as much as we have.

Cottage Review:

This is a small but very nice, comfortable and well equipped cottage and ideal for pets. We took our two cats and it's very safe for them because there in an inner door to keep them away form the exit. It would be ideal fo dogs too. The kitchen equipment was excellent and the bed super comfortable. Everywhere was spotless and the seating/lounge area has a comfy sofa. There is a bit of an issue with parking. We did always manage to find a space but you can't park outside which made loading and unloading the car a bit tricky. That would not put us off using it again but it's something to be aware of.

Cottage Review:

Excellent location within Crich just of the Market place. Local pub, post office, shop and chip shop within 800 yards. Lots of places to visit nearby that are also child-friendly. The property its self is situated down a quiet side street. I parked in the road to unload on my arrival and caused no inconvenience. Parking although not outside was also never an issue often 300 yds away outside the pub. Also, there is a local Pharmacy within Crich.

The cottage itself is excellent offering a boot room to isolate dirty boots and outdoor wear. The living room is well furnished with a Chesterfield, a quaint coffee table that also serves as a chessboard. The Kitchen is well equipped and we self-catered for a family of 4 for a whole week.

Upstairs there was a large bedroom which allowed my wife 2 & 6 year old to sleep with no disturbance. The bathroom is phenomenal with walk-in shower large enough for a couple of kids with a parent playing referee!

We visited Chatsworth, Bakewell, Monsal Trail, Crich Tramway Museum, Matlock Bath, Heights of Abraham and all were well equipped, Covid aware and within easy commuting distance.

A place to become part of the local town, even for just a short time. A beautiful part of the country to unwind with and a very relaxing time had by all! Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Cottage Review:

I drove for 4 hours to get to somewhere I thought would be a lovely, quiet getaway from my normally busy lifestyle. How wrong was I.

Firstly, there is nowhere to park. The owner told me that she had never known there be nowhere to park. Well let me tell you, I had to get the dogs out, lock them in the cottage then go in search of a parking space. I found one down the busy (main) road at the market place.

The cottage itself is down a dead end lane next to a communist club and people are going up and down constantly.

Every window you look out from has the view of a wall and the 'garden' is actually a tiny courtyard compete with smelly dustbin.

I immediately contacted Sykes Cottages who were no help whatsoever. Apparently, saying that parking is on the road is ok, EVEN THOUGH you have to walk up the lane to get to the road.

Its cost me a lot of money to sit in a dark box and I am not happy at all. How others can give good ratings is beyond me because it is NOT peaceful. It is NOT quiet. And it certainly isnt the brighty and airy place the images show!

Situated in the lovely village of Crich, it's the perfect home base for hikers, mountain bikers & dog walkers alike.

It has been finished to a high standard and we loved the shower and log fire.

The patio is nice and private and all the gear for washing your pooch or bikes down is well thought out.

There's a pub, Indian restaurant, mini market, butchers, chip shop and bakers all within 50 yards. The tramway museum is a good day out and the views from the top of the monument are amazing.
