| Cottage Review:
Myself and my family were due to stay here for a family wedding last weekend. The holiday company left me a message to say the owners had cancelled due to no hot water. I have since read a review on Character Cottages website praising the owner for getting an emergency plumber at such short notice. There was no offer of alternative accommodation or apology from the owners. We had nowhere else to stay, were not offered an alternative or asked if we would like an alternative to be found. I am absolutely disgusted with this service. I was very suspicious when I contacted Sykes to be told that the booking reference was linked to another surname but then they backtracked and denied this. We were given a pitiful amount of compensation that doesn?t come close to making up for the additional costs incurred and huge disappointment that an opportunity to spend a weekend together was ruined. I would not recommend this cottage and will never use either Sykes/Character Cottages again. |
