| Cottage Review:
Morpeth is a great base to explore Northumberland. What we hadn?t appreciated was how much there is to do within walking distance of the town, which itself has some great history. The property is quaintly hidden away, just yards from the market square ( Wednesday market) with loads of local shops close by. It has a shopping centre with M&S as key tenant, and a good mix of quality and value brands. More restaurants and take aways that we could try in a week. The river meanders around the town and has easy access in several places which our 6 month old pup loved. I saw birds I rarely see, including a kingfisher, nesting grey wagtails and a dipper. Otters are seen sadly not by us. We only got in the car once in the week and didn?t really need to do that. Robert, the owner, is very hands on and helpful. Also has a lovely black cocker spaniel. We?ve visited Morpeth many times before but being right in the town centre made it easy to really enjoy the town. Highly recommend Wheatsheaf Yard |

Me and my partner started our stay here on the 3rd August, lovely cottage in the lovely area of the country. As we are both keyworkers this was the only time we had been able to get away this year with both our dogs with us too. On the Monday morning I was greeted by the neighbour whilst still in my pyjamas telling me she didn't like my dogs using the courtyard as a toilet, unfortunately having a 14 year old Dog as soon as he gets out the door its time to go. | Cottage Review:
A lovely, well equipped cottage tucked away in a quiet yard but still in the centre of Morpeth. We loved the decor, the comfortable beds and although we prefer to eat out whilst on holiday, the kitchen had everything we needed for the food we did prepare. It really was a home from home. The cottage doesn't have parking but we didn't find this a problem as the owner, Robert, provides parking permits and advice on where to leave the car. He was also there when we arrived and carried our bags in for us, he was an excellent host, caring and attentive but not |
