28 Stone Cottage, High Street, Thorington, Halesworth, Suffolk, IP17 3QN

Arrived about 5pm and my first thought was what a lovely cottage, the A12 and A144 are both very busy roads but once inside it wasn't a problem as after the usual commuter times it was a lot less busy so less noise. Had to do a lot of dusting on arrival as there were cobwebs everywhere on the wooden beams and walls. Very large cracks in the plaster on the wall in main bedroom, as far as the stairs are concerned I read reviews stating they were quirky and steep, in my opinion they were downright dangerous. There was no welcome pack not even a pint of milk to start with only part used coffee and tea in cupboard, had to wash cutlery and crockery before we could use it. To sum up in my view the cottage is looking a bit tired and is in need of a bit of attention. I must stress this is my opinion only, other people could find it characterful

Arrived Friday had a lovely weekend. But you really need a car we managed to order a taxis but with a lot of effort.

Lovely pub 20 min walk away. Went into Halesworth on the Saturday which is lovely little village. The cottage was well equipped but no heating till late Saturday and it was freezing if we wanted to used the log fire would have had to pay an extra £5 for the wood. Stairs very very steep

Arrived 2.30 Friday 20th April. Unpacked had coffee packed and left 4.00 same day. A12 and A144 only 20 MTRS away. Web site said maybe some road noise. Noise was constant.

Also very disappointed with poor standard of furnishings, not even a wardrobe. Garden unkept apart from the grass having been cut.

Spoke to the agent and owner who could not see any issues.

This is no way a 4 star cottage.

Agent has refunded £91. Nothing not even a jesture of good will from owner. Cottage cost £435 for 7 nights

We found this lovely cottage very last minute and were certainly not disappointed - quite the opposite - this place is just gorgeous. Small but perfectly formed and beautifully renovated with lots of lovely decor touches to finish. Every detail has been thought of by the owners. Great central location for southwold and aldeburgh. Nearest beach is 10 mins away ehich the dogs and kids loved. Lots to do. Will be back !

So lucky to have found this property for a last minute unplanned booking. The house is beautifully decorated and it turned out we were the first guests! The extensive welcome pack was an unexpected bonus. It is clear the owners have put a great deal of thought and energy into making the most of the space, and everything you could wish for in a holiday home is provided. We did experience one minor problem during our stay, but the owners are easily contactable by phone/email, and responded immediately to resolve the issue. The house sits right by the busy
