The apartment was very interesting, with many pictures and photographs. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped, with outstanding views from the windows. We could walk into Ullapool along the (rough) beach from the bottom of the garden. The area is outstanding for all sorts of activities - hill walking, cycling, boating (depending on the weather of course!) - and also touring, seeing wildlife, looking at features of the West Highland Geopark, and walking round some lovely west coast gardens.

Many thanks to Kate and Paul, who were friendly and welcoming hosts - we enjoyed our stay very much.

We have just had another lovely stay at Rubha Mor. We are always made very welcome and have just made our third visit. It is a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. It has a fantastic location looking out over Loch Broom. It is very restful just to sit and look out across the water.

This cottage is a real gem; a loved and well looked after home from home. It is very cosy with excellent facilities and in a perfect location for exploring the magnificent landscape of the Assynt to the north as well as that of the west coast to the south. Sitting in a quiet spot on the banks of Loch Broom, yet only a short walk from the centre of Ullapool, the cottage affords fabulous views across the water to the mountains beyond. The frequent sighting of the otter in the morning was a real treat. Kate and Paul were super hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

We have had a wonderful stay at Rubha Mor. The cottage is so comfortable and well equipped and lots of nice little extra detail like home made jam and a selection of teas and coffee and hot chocolate. Lovely fresh flowers on the table were also very much appreciated. The views are to die for and to be able to sit in the garden and look over the Loch is special. We had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rubha Mor.

Beautiful clean cottage attached to owners home, everything provided that you could possibly need. Extras were a nice touch such as fresh flowers milk, tea, coffee and cakes. Owners were very welcoming, they were there if needed but not intrusive. View from the cottage was stunning with views down Loch Broom and the other way into Ullapool where you can see the ferries coming in from Stornoway, we were even lucky enough to see a cruise liner arrive for the day. We would definitely recommend a stay here you won’t be disappointed. Lots of lovely places to visit and some lovely walks

The cottage was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. A very warm welcome from Paul and Kate who provided some nice additional touches like homemade jam and flowers. They are also very helpful about places to visit and things to do. The view was fantastic and perfect for wildlife spotting and boat/ship/ferry watching. I think we have been spoilt now as we’ll never find another cottage with such a fabulous view. The garden was attractive and a steep incline led down to a stony beach which we used to walk into the village centre 10 minutes away. After that we used the path next to the road as it was easier! The scenery is wonderful and there are plenty of walks in the area, or scenic drives if preferred. There is a good choice of eateries in the village although they can be a bit pricey. Would love to return one day.

This was our 4th stay at Rubha Mor, a real home from home. It is very well equipped, comfy and cozy. Paul and Kate are perfect hosts with an amazing knowledge of the area. The flowers, home made jam and biscuits were a lovely welcome. The view from the lounge window over Loch Broom and surrounding hills is simply stunning. We saw so many different sea birds. Great Northern Divers, Black Guillemots, Black Throated Divers, Comerants and Eider Ducks to name but a few. We have seen deer on the the hills opposite albeit through binoculars. The accommodation is the perfect base for all interests. We love walking so the drying cupboard in the hall comes in useful for those wet days. We had a couple of meals out at The Ferry Boat Inn, good food and atmosphere. Enjoyed pizzas from the pizza van and fish and chips which we usually take down to the lighthouse to eat at Rhue overlooking The Summer Isles. We are always sad to leave as the cottage and Ullapool make you just relax and enjoy the moment.....

An idyllic setting, breathtaking views, wood burner for cosy evenings. The hosts have created a haven of hygge in the Highlands. Gorgeous wee touches - the Scottish soaps, Tunnocks treats, fresh milk in fridge, binoculars for birdwatching, and Kate’s homemade organic jam. Excellent recommendations for local places to eat and buy food - our favourites were Tea by the Sea, Ceilidh Place, West Coast Delicatessen and the Ullapool Smokehouse. We loved the Highland Stoneware Pottery shop and our single-track road trip adventure with views of deer, lochs, and Stac Pollaidh.

A lovely spacious and well equipped apartment in a prime spot. It has fantastic views of the loch and Ullapool harbour, with a loch side garden. It is only a short walk to the town centre but benefits from a very peaceful location .The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The log burning stove makes a winter stay particularly cosy.

Really lovely stay at this wonderful cottage. Great views across loch and hills, bright and very comfortable. Everything had been thought of, very well equipped, clearly labelled. Nice to have a welcome tray with essentials to get started. I really appreciated the commitment to the environment with easy facility for composting, recycling and eco/fairtrade products used throughout the cottage. Kate and her husband were very accommodating and welcoming, thank you. I would love to come back to stay and enjoy more of this beautiful area!

A wonderful stay at Rubha Mor. A staggering view from the big view windows looking across Loch Broom. The cottage had every amenity and was very comfortably furnished. Plenty of info available, not least from owners Kate and Paul, who were really friendly and welcoming yet unobtrusive. Ullapool itself is a lively gem, remote yet with every necessary facility - a decent Tescos and a good range of other shops plus several decent restaurants and cafés, a 25m swimming pool, a live music venue (The Ceilidh Place). We will be back, probably for the October Guitar Festival.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. The moment I walked in I teared up with joy at the gorgeous view. Kate and Paul had already laid a fire for us, so welcoming. Beautiful garden and deck, great bathtub and bed, great kitchen and was a relief to cook after so much restaurant food on our trip. Highly recommend the gorge walk nearby, the forest garden walk, the walk near Lochinver that Paul recommended, ferry to have lunch in Stornoway, a boat tour, just endless beauty and peace everywhere. This is our retirement trip, and Rubha Mor is where our internal compass reset.

What a fabulous house! It is very comfortable and quiet and the views from the living room and kitchen are extraordinarily beautiful. Kate and Paul are wonderful hosts and very helpful and kind. The house is close enough to walk to Ullapool but you also have everything you need to cook or enjoy a take out with the best views in town. We enjoyed buying fresh fish in town and cooking at home or buying from the Seafood Shack and eating at home with the views and on colder evenings with the fire roaring. Ullapool is a great town for driving north and west to some of the best scenery in Scotland. If this house is available for your dates, don't delay, book it right away.

We have been to stay at Rubha Mor so many times that I have lost count. It is very clean, well equipped, comfortable and homely. The views are very beautiful, and, as I have said before, my only ‘complaint’ is that I spend so much time gazing out of the window that I don’t get any reading done. 😊. We feel completely at ease and relaxed at Rubha Mor. Kate and Paul are always welcoming and helpful, and have interesting information about the area. Ullapool itself is a charming and thriving community, with several restaurants and cafes. The surrounding area is stunning of course and there are many gorgeous places to visit. I can’t praise this property highly enough.

It’s difficult to add anything new given all the positive reviews for this place. We loved the location, just 10 minutes walk to the town centre, the furnishings, decor, equipment and attention to detail. And, of course, the views! Our hosts were excellent too - welcoming and full of useful tips (on the last day, get away before the ferry comes in). We agree with everything that’s been said before, it is simply an excellent place for a relaxing holiday away from it all.

Cottage was very clean and fully equipped with good selection of kitchen equipment towels soap and tourist information etc. The property fully met our expectations and the owners were very approachable and helpful with holiday ideas and knowledge of local walks.

On arrival the cottage had lots of homely touches including a vase of cut flowers and homemade jam to accompany the welcome pack to ensure we were able to have a cuppa and biscuit on arrival.

the location was perfect for us with direct access to the loch side and walkable to Ullapool.

The views from the property were incredible; waking up to the view up the Loch from the bedroom window to admiring the view from our patio in the evening complete with a glass of wine watching the sun go down was sheer contentment.

I have lost count of the number of times we have stayed at Rubha Mor….high teens at least, if not, more. It is very clean, well equipped and comfortable, and on arrival we just settle in with a lovely sigh as if we have come to our very own cottage. We stay here for the duration of our art course (Bridge House art - wonderful courses, book early to get a place). After a full and grubby day on the hills or in the studio, coming back to Rubha Mor to scrub up and cook a meal is wonderfully cosy and peaceful. We would be very disappointed if we couldn’t book it when coming to Ullapool. We have also used it for a mooching around week’s holiday of reading, walking, jigsaws etc at other times in the year. There are many things to do in Ullapool, with various restaurants and cafes. I particular I recommend the Ceilidh Place and the Seafood Shack. Last but not least…….the views! They are spectacular.

What a wonderful stay! The sea view from the kitchen/living room area is wonderful and the property was exceptionally clean. We used this as a base to walk up some Munros in the area. We also ate out at the arch inn one evening and the seafood shack for lunch. Kate and Paul are friendly, helpful hosts. As others have mentioned the kitchen is well equipped - I made a cake for my husband’s birthday while I was there. Overall a great stay. Highly recommend.

We have rented this property several times over the last ten years. My wife and I find the location and accommodation ideal. The apartment itself is well appointed, clean, warm and quiet. We find the fully equipped kitchen especially useful. The Copestake family are especially good at being helpful without being intrusive.

Ullapool is more of a small town than large village. Food shopping is good and there are many pubs and restaurants serving good food. Fish and chips or a chinese take away are also important after a hard day in the hills.

The home is warm with under floor heating and a cozy fireplace. The furniture is comfy and in excellent condition. The view from the lounge and kitchen windows is exceptional. Only a 5 minute walk to town by sidewalk, and has access to the beach that also leads to Ullapool. The hosts are friendly, helpful folks that do all they can to accommodate. This is our 4th time here. We so love the view from the cottage of Loch Broom and the mountains. We just can't get enough of it. This cottage is so luxurious. All the comforts of home can be found here.

Kate and Paul are such a lovely and kind couple. They're always at the ready for a talk or will help in any way.

Their son Will has his own company in sea kayaking and canoeing. If you love an adventure GO sea kayaking with Will. He's a very kind and outgoing person, an amazing guide and instructor and has a lot of knowledge of the Loch, it's animals and flora and fauna of the mountains. It's a great experience! We had such a wonderful time with him!

Ullapool has a few very good restaurants. We recommend the Ferry Boat Inn, The Seaforth Bar & Restaurant and if you really want to taste some amazing seafood go to the Seafood Shack. It's take away but they have some tables at the shack if you want to sit and look at Loch Broom.

By Ullapool you have the Breas, that's a beautiful walk in the hills surrounding Ullapool with amazing views on the loch and Ullapool itself. Also go to Leitir Easaidh All-Abilities path (https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/ullapool/leitir-easaidh.shtml). We call it the "honey walk" because you always hear the bees and smell honey. It is not a difficult walk but it is very beautiful!

It is located in a quiet part of Ullapool just a short stroll from the village centre. Ullapool itself is full of interest and an excellent base for exploring the northwest Highlands. Best of all are the owners, Kate and Paul, and their son Will, who are all excellent hosts. Rubha Mor is an apartment, part of the family home, and visitors have use of their garden.

Our third visit to this wonderful property with its breath-taking views and homely atmosphere. It has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay and masses of information of what is on offer in the surrounding area - it’s sometimes hard to venture out and leave the wonderful vistas behind! Ullapool is just a short walk away with lovely eateries, including The Seafood Shack, and the ferry to Stornaway - a super sea trip. We would highly recommend the property and it’s owners, Kate, Paul and family who are helpful and informative, always there if you need them. We will be back again!!

We both loved this place. The location overlooking Loch Broom is wonderful and one can easily walk into Ullapool, either along the strand or on the footway. The apartment has a spacious and extremely well equipped kitchen. There is a comfortable living room. Both areas enjoy loch and hillside views. The place has masses of information about the local and wider area. Kate and Paul will happily supplement this information and provide help as requested.

Our second stay in this fantastic holiday accommodation. It really does have everything you could possibly wish for to make for a perfect break away in the Highlands. We have never stayed anywhere better and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. We very much hope to be able to stay there again in the not too distant future.

This is a gorgeous accessible ground floor apartment with beautiful views looking onto Loch Broom with access to a garden and quiet beach. The apartment is very comfortable and the double aspect windows in the kitchen make it enjoyable when preparing drinks or meals. It was only a short walk into Ullapool itself - less than ten minutes tempting us to listen to live music on two nights while we were there. The hosts have comprehensive maps in the hallway of the property along with the most comprehensive info leaflets on the surrounding area which is kept up-to-date. A selection of DVDs, books and games makes it a delight and without doubt we will be revisiting.

Wonderful place to stay. Paul and Kate are close to hand but unobtrusive for lots of helpful facts and advice. Accommodation has everything you could possibly need and then more! Spotlessly clean with beautiful views across the loch.

It is a 10 minute walk into the centre of Ullapool and there are countless things to do round and about., including the walk up the hill.

We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation and like many other customers would stay there again.

We have stayed at Rubha Mor for several years, sometimes twice a year. I cannot rate it highly enough. It is comfortable, warm, well equipped and beautifully situated. For me, having lots of hot water, a huge comfy bed, a breathtaking view, a kitchen equipped for a home rather than a holiday let ticks several boxes. It is 10 minutes walk from Ullapool which is definitely worth a visit or three. The owners Kate and Paul are lovely friendly people and nothing is too much trouble, although having said that, there has never been any trouble. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

I hadn't read all the reviews until it was my last night here, and I agree wholeheartedly with them all. We have had a short but wonderful stay here. It is a fantastic base for walkers or people that want to sit and gaze out of the window at the loch. You can star gaze outside the back door, gaze at the fire or relax in a really deep bath. This is our 5th self catering accommodation in five weeks and it is completely superior to any that we have been in, in terms of friedliness, facilities, location and comfort. Thank you so much for letting us stay here!

The accommodation is remarkable spacious for a 1 bedroom property and is situated on the shores of Loch Broom and has a beautiful outlook over stunning scenary. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, and the owners are on hand if anything needs sorting out, but do not intrude. Ullapool is a delightful small port with a good selection of pubs and restaurants and is well placed for exploring the beautiful yet largely empty Scottish mountain countryside which surrounds it, and is only about 55 miles ( about 75 minutes) from Inverness if the need for a city should be required. The only drawback is the west coast does get more rain than the east.

This was our second visit to Rubha Mor, and we are planning a third visit next year in this outstanding cottage. The furnishings are very good. The kitchen is well equipped and offers everything you need.

And when something is missing: Kate and Paul - the friendly hosts - will get it for you. Beds and bath are good. The cottage’s special quality: The location is extraordinary, located on the shore of Loch Broom in a beautiful, lovely designed "wild" garden with direct access to the shore of Loch Broom. It offers nice views to the loch and different places to sit and to enjoy the surroundings. And incase the weather is not good enough to be outside, the cottage is wonderful to relax in! Because of the great windows in the living room and the kitchen you feel like being outside. And if it becomes cold outside, not only the underfloor heating will warm you but there is a fireplace too. The surroundings offer a stunning landscape for hiking. Starting directly from Ullapool or a short distance away by car you can reach Stac Pollaidh, Cul Mor, An Telleach, Suilven and others. The peaks offer outstanding views to the Summer Isles, lochs and the sea.

----

Rubha Mor is an absolut perfect place to visit the Far North-West of Scotland. The accommodation itself is a very comfortable apartment on one level and contains all what you need: fully equipped kitchen (even with tableware for nearly ten people - so you do not have to clean it up everyday); very cosy living-room to relax in and enjoy the fantastic view over Loch Broom (you can see it from all the windows); comfy beds and a spacious bathroom. Many suggestions and maps for walks and excursions are

provided, both for Ullapool itself as well as the whole area. But the best Extra for us were Kate and Paul itself. Very friendly, uncomplicated and helpful with many tips.

I stayed in Rubha Mor on 3 different occasions and fully intend to stay again in the future as everything about it is first class. the flat is warm, comfortable, really well equipped - lots of cooking dishes and utensils, kitchen cupboards include spices, etc. The layout is excellent, with a lovely living area that has a windows along 2 walls allowing both lots of light into the area and magnificent views of Loch Broom, hills and mountains as well as Ullapool and the ferry coming in and out. Outside the kitchen area is a small veranda that visitors can sit on and enjoy the views and good weather. The location is perfect, easy walking distance into Ullapool, sitting on the loch side. The bathroom and bedrooms are well equipped with really comfortable beds that can be made up as either 2 singles or one double. Lots of towels and bedding available. As if all this is not enough the owners are warm, friendly, informative and helpful in every way. The flat also has a very practical drying cupboard and a wood burning stove that is easy to use and provides great heat on a wet, cold day. Thoroughly recommend, best self catering I've ever used.

Our first stay at Rubha Mor was in 2008, we returned in 2013 and we will be back again in the future. The location is marvelous, Ullapool is a wonderful community, and Rubha Mor is the icing on the cake. We have stayed in a number of self-catering cottages in our 6 holidays in Scotland over the years, and this is by far our favorite. Very comfortable bed, terrific kitchen with all the cookware you need for full meals, and sitting in the living room overlooking Loch Broom and the surrounding hills can't be beat! The worst part about Rubha Mor is leaving.
