More About the MyCottageHoliday Excellence Awards 2010

Predominantly based on the comments of reviewers, the MyCottageHoliday Excellence Awards recognise those properties and owners who provide the best possible self-catering holiday accommodation experience to their guests.

We believe that owners who add their properties to MyCottageHoliday, and who encourage their guests to add impartial reviews, are demonstrating a commitment to accountability and excellence, so the qualification criteria for a property to be considered for one of the awards is a minimum of five guest reviews on MyCottageHoliday.co.uk in the previous 12 months.

39 holiday properties in the UK were shortlisted in 2010. 12 of those received commendations.

The finalists for each category were selected by the editorial judging panel based purely on the reviews left by guests on MyCottageHoliday. The finalists were assessed more closely by the judges. This included corroboration of the guest reviews where required. The winner of each category was decided by a judging panel made up of the MyCottageHoliday editorial team.

The MyCottageHoliday Excellence Awards 2011 will be based on reviews added to the site between October 2010 and September 2011 inclusive.
