Cottage Review:

My wife & I enjoyed a great weeks holiday staying at The Folly. The property is a little quirky & is set in pleasant surroundings on a private estate, set away from the road surrounded by trees, grass & with a stream running past the side of the cottage. It is so peaceful nothing but the singing of the birds breaking the silence. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cottage. However there where a few maintenance issues that should have been resolved. The 2 sinks in the kitchen when the plugs were pushed down leaked water rapidly. It was impossible to use the sinks for washing up. The back door has a split in the bottom panel which let in quite a draught. The toilet in the bathroom didn't flush very well often needing 3 or 4 flushes to clear the bowl. In the bedroom there is a door which leads onto the Juliet balcony. We came back from a day out one day, when the wind was very strong & blowing straight onto the door, to find the door wide open. Despite ensuring before we went out that is was closed & locked. Despite many tries we could not close the door securely even when locked & ended up having to make a wedge to keep the door shut as the very strong wind persisted for 2 days.
