We enjoyed our stay here for 6 days. The place is beautifully clean and well equipped. It provides complete privacy and we had broccoli and rhubarb in the backyard. [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]

Excellent choice for an immaculately clean, very efficient, well-equipped, very comfortable and beautiful cottage.

We rented a car during our vacation and we felt rest assured that it was parked safely at night as there is ample space on the property for parking.

The location of the cottage is excellent as it is situated between Glasgow and Edinburgh and to its north you have the Highlands...thus making it an ideal base to start and end the day's outing/planned trip.

The gardens around the cottage and the fields beyond can be enjoyed from all the windows inside of the cottage.

Sauchenford Cottage is very pretty, comfortable and exceptionally well equiped. About anything that one might need during the stay could be found in the house, along with lots of information about places to visit in the area.

The hosts, Joan and Mike, made us feel very welcome and were there to help whenever we had a question. They really tried to make our holidays the best they could be.

The cottage is situated just outside Stirling and therefore perfect for exploring Central Scotland and parts of the Highlands.

We definitely recommend Sauchenford Cottage, since it is a very pleasant place to come "home" to after a day of touring.

This is a beautifully kept and equipped cottage in an ideal location for exploring Stirling and the surrounding countryside. Mike and Joan are perfect hosts who made us feel welcome and assured us that if we had any problems, luckily we didn't, they would always be on hand and nothing seemed too much trouble, we were even invited to help ourselves to the fruit and vegetables growing in the garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending Sauchenford Cottage to family and friends or staying there again at a future date.

Cottage Review:

My wife and I think that this is the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. It’s not big, but it’s big enough; just right for two people. It’s cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was perfect and nothing was scrimped upon. It looks out onto a lovely lawn and garden at the front and a vegetable patch at the back. Although it’s (conveniently) sited on a main road and not far from the motorway the traffic noise is negligible, the cottage being shielded by trees.

Mike and Joan, the owners and next-door neighbours are very pleasant people who are available if needed and not at all intrusive. On returning to the cottage after a day out you might be welcomed home by Finlay, the Westie, who greets you without jumping up or barking – a lovely little dog.

After leaving Sauchenford we travelled northwards to Dingwall, to a luxury 5 star cottage, for a couple of days stay that I’d won in a competition; a place that would normally be beyond our budget. Even if I won the lottery I wouldn’t go back there but I would go back to Sauchenford.

This was one of the best mini breaks my husband and I have enjoyed in a long time. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed by Mike and Joan and their friendly little dog, Finely.

The holiday let was exactly as described and had a great deal of information on hand regarding the cottage and abundance of wonderful sight to see.

Having a bus stop outside the cottage was very helpful, with being able to leave the stress of driving behind us.

This cottage is certainly a place we will visit again in the near future and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing location with history right on the door step.

We had a really nice time in Scotland and Mike and Joan's Cottage was perfect. This is ideally situated, and we really felt like home. The owners are really friendly and always ready to help finding information about anything. Small details really made us feel welcomed (a bunch of fresh flowers, a breakfast package....). Thank you again Mike and Joan. [Added at Editor's discretion since it appears to be a helpful review and the reviewer has been authenticated]
