Cottage Review:   Lovely, cosy and rustic cottage in an ideal location with easy access to Edinburgh. The cottage has a home from home feel and the owners are very friendly and attentive to your needs. Nearby are some nice little beaches with coastal paths and quaint old villages nestled amongst the hills. A definite return.
Make up of party:  Ideal for a family with no more than two children who may want to visit Edinburgh for a few days then escape the hustle of the city to the calmness of the coast/country.

Cottage Review:   Stayed in number 2 which is next door for one week with husband and two children (3 and 10) and in all honesty, it was (and still is!) the warmest, nicest, homliest, best place we have ever stayed in. From the offset, the setting is magical (acres of private woodland), the welcome basket of tea, cakes and Cava went down a treat with both adults and children. It is an excellent base if you want to explore - Loch Ness approx 3 hours drive, Edinburgh city only 15 minute drive. You have to stay here to really experience it. We will definitely be back.
Make up of party:  Family sharing - two adults, two children (3 and 10). Perfect for family - two large rooms.

Cottage Review:   We had a very good base for our holiday in Scotland at No. 2 Dales Farm Cottage (next door to the advertised cottage photograph). We were very comfortable there, and it was nice to have the house to ourselves after our travels. We were well provided for with a well stocked hospitality basket. We seemed to be in the middle of the countryside, but were still close to the major roads and the railway. We hope to visit the cottages next year. Cottage Review:   This cottage is a VERY special place, as the reviews already posted go to show. We couldn't believe our luck when we arrived - the cottage itself, the woodland, chickens and hospitality make for such a special trip. The cottage is incredibly well equipped. would recommend this to anyone (but just hope that the cottage is available when we want to return!). Thanks again to the Barleys.

Cottage Review:   We had the next door cottage - it is a fabulous holiday let. After our long journey we were given a warm welcome and a tray of goodies to revive us, I have to mention the tastiest of eggs that were provided! the cottage is set in wonderful surrondings, just perfect. Location was great and really close to 'park & ride' for Edinburgh aswell as serving as a good base for touring around. Information regarding the area is comprehensively provided by the owners. We had good weather which was a mild disappointment as we wanted an excuse to be really lazy, bank up the wood burner and spend a day or two reading, watching dvd's and enjoying the cottage - never mind, maybe next time?!
