Description of the cottage holiday
Built in 1877 Brackenber Holiday Cottage provides the ideal base to explore The Lake District, Scottish Borders and Eden Valley. Situated in the secluded village of Shap between Kendal and Penrith, the holiday cottage is within walking distance of The Eastern Lake District National Park where you can explore remote Wet Sleddale, secret Swindale and follow the old track to Mardale and Haweswater. Unless you are on Wainwrights Coast to Coast path you will probably not meet anybody all day!.Best Features

Can hardly wait until our return trip to Brackenber Cottage!! We had such a grand time touring around the beautiful Lake District and venturing into Scotland. The cottage was a beautiful place to return to in the evening to relax and unwind after a long day of sight seeing. Such peaceful country surroundings! Our hosts Ny and Mal were so helpful in giving us tips on what to see and do! Canada Loves The Lakes and Brackenber Cottage! Will definatley be telling all our friends "the" go to destination for their next holiday!
