We've rented lots of holiday cottages over the years - as a couple and as a family. We've been lucky that most of the cottages we chose were lovely - or at least they were pretty much as described. But one or two were disappointing to say the least. Tatty furniture described as 'antique', 'accessible' as a euphemism for the proximity to the motorway, or cottages that were simply not very clean or which has inadequate kitchens. We've all been there - we know that the cottage owner will sell the good points - and that's fair enough. But wouldn't it be useful to have had a peep at the guest book before you parted with your cash? Even when people are being polite in the guest book you can read between the lines.

So we created MyCottageHoliday.co.uk to allow all of us that rent cottages to share our thoughts and experiences with other people who are thinking of making a booking.
